Think this enough weight on a trailer? Pic...

Saw this the other day, McD's beside an interstate. Hope he wasn't on his way to Chicago or something. Oh by the way the truck pulling this had a plow on too. I believe these would be two 7000# axles on this trailer. The gate was pretty bent and trashed when I went by, it's too bad, looked like a good trailer. Also these really nice skid steers were only chained towards the front.

Wow, Red, (off)White, and Blue.
Probably heading for The Netherlands ;-)

Yes, the skid steers look nice and would be a lot safer with a better hauler (and bigger trailer and more chains).

Take care, Hendrik, from The Netherlands

Hope he is local, just going from job to job. BTW that is the kind of people a good legal person has to bid aganst to get a job.

Somewhere around 17000 lbs setting on a 14000 Lb GROSS weight trailer and TWO chains that i see holding the load on . Oh yea smart and ya wonder WHY the DOT is coming down on the little guy????? Two on that trailer would be pushing the limits of it . And to haul them correctly you would need three chains and FIVE binders each. I hauled a lot of New Cat Skid steers out of N.C. and before you could leave the plant they inspected each and everyone for proper tie down . If there was no attachment (bucket) then two chains and four binders with Attachment you had to add the another chain and binder over the bucket. Same as hauling tractors with loaders or if you have something hooked to the three point it must be chained down . So you load a tractor with a loader and ya have a rear blade or say a brush hog hooked to the three point to keep everybody happy ya need four binders on a four point hook one over the loader bucket and atleast one over what ever is hooked on the back.

Don"t know if it"s an optical illusion, due to the windshield, but the frame of the trailer seems to be sagging front and back of the axles. Probably overloadae by just a bit!

A DOT officers dream. Did some quick checking, the Bobcat S175 weighs about 6300#. X 3= 18900#. The push boxes around 1150# X 3= 3450#. Total load of 22350#. Trailer is rated at 15680# gross (from PJ"s site) and weighs about 5500# so load capacity is 10180#. He"s only over by about 12170# on the trailer. I would hate to be on the same road as him.

Hendrick, Just currious as where in Netherlands you are. I visited twice when younger and basicly all my close relatives are in Holland. Mostly Amsterdam and Almelo as I recall, although that was years back and I haven"t been in touch lately. One of my relatives on my mothers side you might know of is Johny Metgod, use to play a little soccer, think he"s coaching these days. Rocky.

How come you cropped the tow vehicle off the pic? Just curious....

Don't they figure 20 or 30% goes on the truck though? Still over but got to allow some there.

Hendrik,

Rocky and I both have relatives in the Netherlands. Mine are now mostly passed away, but once lived in the northern area by the North Sea and German border.
Hendrik, do you know of a man named Gerrit van Vliet who lives near the Rhine, east of Rotterdam? He is a tractor lover and enters plowing contests in his area. I have never met him but I correspond with him often.

I didn't try, but sure looks like it. Maybe I have another one. It was some big Ford pickup with a blade on the front.

i'm not a professional hauler by any means, but why all the binders? is that the law? i only use binders on one side, or end, and then pull the chains opposite up tight.

Fair enough. He"d only be over by about 9900# then. So much safer, I"m, sure DOT would let him pass on that.
