Super Bowl Farmer Salute

I think it was a great and fitting salute to the American Farmer. For this we can thank Dodge. I only wish it had been CNH or JD or AGCO that was doing the advertizing. And Diamler-Benz did it under an American name brand. Sure beats VW or Toymotor having done it....

The farm economy is the brightest star in the US economy. That's why this commercial was worded to make the farmer feel good. As a side affect it explained to the world the American farmer is a versatile multi-talented individual who works through many adversities to produce the food that's served on our tables.
We farmers are much more than the old McDonald chugging along on a tractor some people think we are. Jim

They said 111 million were tuned in to this show, the largest in the history of the SB event. Or 71% of nation's TV's were tuned in to this event last night. Can't get much better positive advertising to general population about ag & farmers than that. On behalf of Ram truck.

Hats off to Chrysler and their ad agency, Hats off to Paul Harvey (RIP). Very well done, very well deserved.

Chrysler is currently owned by fiat; which also owns CNH (notice the use of case tractors in the ad).

Our present gave them the company, in trade for Fiat technology; In my opinion this is not a very American thing to do, but... that is what was done.

I wish Chrysler group well, but it is hard to have passion for a company everyone has been playing hot potato with; everyone sucks the good parts and leaves the rind behind

I hope all the "clean fingernail people" noticed also that there was no mention of any union affiliation or any wage / bennefit packages,5 day weeks , paid vacations etc, involved in the farmers life/bussiness. Simply put , if he don't work , you don't eat! They also didn't mention that nearly everything he has to buy (cars, trucks, machinery) is built and priced accordingly in union factories. He is surviving amoungst one of the most unfair playgrounds known to man. We had better ALL thank GOD for the farmer!!

I just happened to flip the channel and saw it. The only thing in the world that bothered me the least little bit about it was the tag line at the end, "For the farmer in everybody". You either are or you aren't.

But,yea,I'd heard Paul Harvey read that on the air several times, and read it in print in his weekly column even more times I think. Humbling.

But at how many million for the ads ????

I bet they could of just gave some trucks away free and got more ad value !!! It would of been all over the news programs. Just like Opras car fiasco was. She gave them to the poor who didn't then have the money to pay the sales taxes on them.

Their "ad dept" probably has more employees than most small companies. You wouldn't want to see them all on unemployment now would ya?? Most have no other skills. And what about their clean fingernails and golf outings??

Darn good piece of advertisement that ran 2 minutes with only the product mentioned at the end.

Vito

I just went to the United Producers site to check cattle prices and this was a lead story on their home page. Says that the speach was first given by Paul Harvey at the 1978 National FFA Convention. They said Ram was making a donation to the FFA for every click on the link to the ad on their website. So before anymore Fiat/Chrysler bashing goes on,better think about that one.

THe FARM ECONOMY is the BRIGHTEST Star in the AMERICAN ECONOMY ,,.Take a Bow ... That ad Was Very Inspiring,...

I thought most of them were trash.

Glad I caught that one.

OUTSTANDING!

Folks on the radio were talking about it, too.

Think Dodge wins the prize on that one.
