Dodge Ram ad on Superbowl

now that i own a dodge,, where was the dually's, i agree, showing a yuppie truck. all the commerical for a 1/2 ton,,lol

RIP Paul Harvey-- wow that commercial just left me speechless. It's got to win some kind of award. Nice shot of the Case too.

I miss hearing Paul Harvey on my lunch breaks during the week- that Mike Huckabee Report sure don't cut it. Even if half of Paul's News and Comment show were plugs for products, you still felt like somehow everything is going to be okay when you heard what Paul Harvey had to say.

DOLLAR for Dollar year after year ,YOU CAN NOT BEAT A DODGE CUMMINS , mile after loaded mile , gallon for gallon of fuel you will get more work from a dodge than anyother brand .without any costly repairs or uexpected tow bills .. maybe dodge can be beat in some things ,, but the bottomline ,, they are the most economical power

That is a commercial from the old days. I love it!
Paul may you RIP, Paul told us the way it is, and guess what, it was. I loved hearing his voice. He was the Billy Graham, Johnny Cash, or Johnny Carson to many people.

Best commercial. My vote.

Very bold/brave commercial by Dodge.

Could give a whole new meaning to "guts - glory" by mentioning GOD on a Sunday.

Just wondering how many lawsuits will result from the A.C.L.U. (Anti-Christian Litigation Unit) by those "offended" by this commercial.

Like Sam Elliott tells it "Go Big or Go Home".

Way to go Dodge!

Not a Dodge fan but have a lot of respect for those who farm for a living. I just play in the sand box--food plots--with big-boy toys. You guys are awesome!!! You can fix most anything in any kind of weather and work circles around the 40-hours-a-week-crowd. I tip my hat to all of you who proudly wear the name "farmer."

Larry

God made a farmer and then some of the farmers decided to slit all the other's throats thru greed and $300 cash rent and guys selling out for the high cash rent and etc. and you get what we have taking over in the Midwest with 24 row planters/12 row combines and etc... And then you have a few "farmers" like me that still have livestock and machinery that will actually fit in a 40x60 pole barn with 16' doors.

I'm kind of saddened by it.
Another example of corporate America pimping off their products. Use any icon. Use any tactic. Cheapen any virtue to sell a product.
By implication, if you buy a Dodge pickup you will suddenly have or develop all of the work ethic, all of the gumption, all of the Godliness of those people in the photos.
It doesn't work that way.
Perhaps it's television in general that inures us
to our lack of virtue - bombarded by so much advertising as we are.
The ad touches us on a very emotional level and gives us a sense of longing. For what?
Not for the fine human qualities Paul Harvey so eloquently speaks of.
But for a toy, a consumer item, a Ram Tough Truck.

You guys can thank Chrysler Ram Truck and The RIchards Group. Which just happens to be the company I work for. ;)

Yes the speech is from Paul Harvey's speech at the FFA convention back in 1978.

I agree completely. I watched that commercial and almost got sucked into it. Then I thought wait a minute here....Chrysler is a Italian owned company, took billions in bailout $$, closed down hundreds of dealers putting a lot of people out of work, builds their "ram" trucks in mexico, and they have to "stones" to pimp out the American farmer for a superbowl commercial?

2 cardinal rules of advertising.

1)Ad must watched and remembered.

2) The ads audience must be one that buys/needs the product type.

Home run...oops....touchdown! on both rules.
