National Farm Machinery Show

Some friends and I are going to meet up and got to Louisville for the first two days of the show. I was hoping maybe some of you guys from the area can point me in the right direction for a hotel. I dont care to drive a little if it will keep me from paying a premium for a room. Maybe go across the river to IN? We should have gotten rooms in advance, but this is kind of a last minute deal. Thanks in advance for the help.

That's where we stayed, in indiana. We made reservations but it was only a couple weeks out. I think we were about 20 miles away.

came on out to corydon indiana ,, and tell them i sent You .. LOL .//you might even get to meet JOANIE from HAAPY DAYS ,, i think she is at HOLIDAY INN,,Baymont INN is run by a wonderful do everything well ..blonde i knew since the 1st grade .. we have a wonderful FRICHES buffet style breakfast to get you started and you can bed down after a CRAcKER BARRELL supper, or if you want a beer and beef ,and more ,Come down to the creek in the old state capitol area at LISAs ,maybe Ol' BUCK will be in the COCONUT ROOM . He ain't never met a stranger and you will know Him by his santa clause look ,,LOOL , just GOOD'OL Home Town Folx here ,.. we also have mexican , Chines, and o;CHarlese... and we dont need all your $$,.

btw ,, you can go to Scottsburg,Ind,same kind of folx as COrydon, or Bardstown KY , LOL ,, the mayor in the ind towns are Fine Fellars and are friends of mine .. we will make you feel at home

We need an exit ramp off I64 at the hospital, but Buck wanted a by-pass for New Middletown. What are we going to do? No more Buck.

If you're coming from the south, stop at Sheperdsville or Brooks Kentucky. Several motels at each of them, and you're only a few minutes down I 65 from the Fairgrounds. Bardstown (as mentioned in another post) is about 35 or 40 miles out of the way. (That's close to where I live)

Just sit tite ,for now ,,good things like that interchange are still cookin ,,, and in time cooler heads will prevail ,,,,. takes a lot of $$$$$$,, And i and others want to get our Fair share from the DC folx ...

Go north into Indiana. All the hotels in Louisville have to pay a per head/room tax to the city. The rooms will be half the price in Indiana. You will just be 15-20 miles up I-65 so travel will not be an issue.

Good show - but the last time I was there it started snowing so hard I wondered if I'd be able to get a plane out before they closed the airport.

Only time I went, about 6 years ago I got a room at a Motel on the east side of 65, thought it was a days Inn but was not a brand name and was pretty close to the river.
Knew a Gal that was there and called her to meet up. She said they were going to the NATP and if I didn't get tickets last year, I'd never get in. I was feelin lonly and noticed a long bar attached to the motel just off the check in desk. So I walked in sat dow and had beer. Thje place filled up in a hurry and afore ya knew it, there was tables crashin and chairs and fists flyin! I watched with amusment fer a few minutes then snuck out a side door. A gal in the bar had told me where to go for "restaurant row" and lo and behold there's a sign in the HOOTER'S window welcoming farm show folks so I wheeled in!
Walked in the door and a table full of Case/IH red hats hailed me over to sit with 'em.Had a coupla pitchers settin and could tell, they weren't their first. Also, the Boss man was throwing $20's at two waitresses like nothing.
As it got to around 8:45, one of the Case guys tells the Boss, "we could use a wet T shirt contest!" The Boss whips out a couple $100 bills and one of the girls takes off...I'm thinking we're in trouble now...she comes back to the table with a pitcher full of water and dumps half of it on the front of the other gals shirt, and then the other one returns the favor! I couldn't believe it.
Sorry fer the long post, but it IS TRUE!
When I saw the gal that I knew at the show the next day, she said she was sorry that I was probably bored and alone!!!
If I was to go again, I'd pay extra to stay at that same motel!!! Wish I could remember the name of it!

That has to be where I stopped going north after the show because of a raging snow storm. It had rained in Louisville all day which didn't bother me because everything is inside. I started north to Wisconsin and it really got bad with lots of cars off the road. I decided I would stop at the next hotel. It was a Hampton Inn and there were several more hotels right there also AND-A HOOTER'S RESTAURANT! I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. What a nice evening although not quite as you describe although I guess it could have been. (;>))

Heading down there myself with a bunch of guys....we do this every year......but we take our campers and camp there by the old amusment park.....good times!
