No church today!!

We are not having church today. The cold weather was too much of a strain on the old furnace. It quit the night it got 10 below here. Luckily the Paster caught it before anything froze up. We have some Propane space heaters scattered around inside to keep things from freezing.

The furnace guy really tried to get it all done yesterday but he just did not get it all done.

Plus some of the back roads here are still real icy. The pastor decided to not have regular services this Sunday. We will instead have a full service on Wed. night rather than just Bible study and fellowship.

So I am home all day today. Kind of feel like just taking the day easy. The youngest Grand Sons are here as we are watching them while the Son/DIL go to a Super Bowl party. I maybe ready for the shop after watching them for several hours. LOL

Have a good day!!!

When I read the title I figured your church had cancelled service so folks could watch the Super Bore.
Always give the kids back dirty. Let them play on a greasy tractor or some such. Then their parents wont drop them off as often. :)

we got married on superbowl sunday, right after the regular church service, my kind of wedding, the preacher had a considerable sum bet on the outcome of the game and didnt dally he got to the i do's and then we got

My wife and I usually go to the 5:30 pm Saturday service at our church, then go out to dinner afterward.

Except when a Nebraska Cornhusker football game interferes. There are normally around 250-300 attend that service, but attendance figures show that when there's a football game on, that service is almost deserted.

Who the heck goes to church until 6:00Pm or so kick off??? Maybe the church goers are gonna get blasted before kickoff! So yes they would cancel church!

Here in the dirty south we have churches of the same flavor on ever street corner. We just all split up :)

While you're on the "no church" topic, this afternoon PBS had a program showing a bunch of vacated churches on the northern plains in N. Dakota, Minnesota and into Canada. I watched for a while and the thought kept coming that a lot of people worked hard to build those and what a shame they're now deserted mostly by the exodus of people from the plains to the cities.
