Ammo box I built for my son (pics)

My son turned 9 this last week and I built this ammo box for him for his birthday. I used rough cut walnut and ripped, planed, and sanded till my arm hurt! It was a fun project and I'm happy with the way it turned out. Enjoy

He started out 3 years ago with a daisy red ryder. This last spring I got him a .22 and he shot a few bricks of ammo throught it already. (getting expensive)! My dad gave him a muzzleloader this last fall but we didnt have a deer close enough to shoot at. He has a youth 20 gauge that my uncle gave him and were gonna try for a gobbler this coming spring. He really enjoys shooting!

The way you used contrasting color on the dowel plugs looks great.

Just wondering, did you date it somewhere? I always put a date on my projects somewhere that is out of the way, but not hard to find. Seems like yesterday, but my first projects are now 30+ years old.
