Can someone show this computer DUMMY how to post a parts schematic on this site that is PDF?? I know how to post photo's that are Jpeg & Gif but no way Jose on PDF.
Thanks,Jim

I scan them with with printer/scannier/copier... and save the scanned pic as a jpeg to post them. But that process utilizes my photo editing software.

Maybe someone know a way to do it without photo editing software.

Just like that.

I'm running Windows 7. Just move your cursor over it,right click, then click "save as" and it will save it in to you computer pictures file. Then post it like you would any other picture.

Then,if you want to blow up part of it,click your program files, click "snipping tool",click "new" in the snipping tool box, outline the area you want to blow up. Now click "file" in that box, then "save as" and save that blown up picture to your picture file and post it like any other picture.

And all that from a computer dummy who figured it out all by myself believe it or not.

OK,you just used the snipping tool to save it then? I didn't even know that thing was there til a couple of weeks ago.

INSTRUCTIONS to use SNIPPING TOOL to save a PDF file as a picture for posting.

Open the PDF document you want to post...but make sure you click on VIEW, then ZOOM down to make the PDF small enough so that the entire page of it fits on your computer screen (I think 50 percent zoom will do it - 75 percent was a littel too big.

Open Snipping Tool (if you cannot find it easily, you can just type “snipping tool” into your search bar that is found at the very bottom/left of screen when you click the round MS "Start" button .

Snipping Tool when open is just a small box on your screen. Tells you to use your cursor to select what you want to copy. Just click on one side, while HOLDING DOWN mouse button... drag it across the selection you want to copy. Then what you just selected now looks like its own small window.

NOW...Click on: FILE then SAVE AS...Then double click on your PICTURES library to open the library.

Now in that window...name this snipped file in the first box of the "save-window”, BUT...

ALSO in the "save-window"... make sure you click the down arrow of the bottom box (below where you name it)...And select JPEG as the file type (otherwise it may save it in a format that will not post on YT).

Now just do your posting on YT and then follow the normal UPLOAD PHOTO process and you’ve got it.

I trying to get acquainted with my new computer with Win 7 Pro. This was my maiden flight with the snipping tool. It's fairly neat.

A PDF is not an image file that browsers can render. It takes an external application, no different than a Microsoft Word file. When you view a PDF file in your browser, you're using a browser plug-in so it looks like the image is viewable in your browser, but it's not.

Note that if you capture the PDF from your screen using a snipping tool or Ctrl-Print Screen, the quality of your image is limited to what your screen resolution is. For the best resolution, you need to programmatically convert the PDF into an image format. I use a free command line tool called ImageMagick for that purpose.

How cool is this. I just saved and posted this right from the Agco pdf that I have saved. Learn something new every day.

use the "take a snapshot" command in Adobe, and open Paint, and paste it there. Either that, or use Ctrl+Alt+Print Screen, and clip the window you're looking at in full, then paste to paint, and cut the part you want, close Paint and reopen, and paste again and save a a jpeg. YT likes jpeg files better than bitmaps.

Tx Jim,

Glad you got it figured out.

I had to go experiment with it myself. Someone had posted about the snipping tool a week or more back - so had to check it out.

I just take a snapshot of it and it goes to the desktop. From there I
can post it like any picture. Good old Mac's. Took less time than
reading the other posts.

That is very sharp and clear MSD. That works better. Try the Oliver 70 Flag Tractor using this method rrlund and let's see the difference.

My Adobe Reader 10 has under the edit menu "Take a Snapshot" that works very well. You then go to "Paint" (under Programs, Accessories) and paste it there and save as a jpeg. This is with a windows machine.
