Adaptor plate fora Case VAC to a V-8 engine.

Long story short, I cannot find a replacement engine for my fathers old VAC. I have a ton of extra car/truck engines available. is there a basic plan out there that could give me guidance on the adaptor plate and how to connect the flywheel/pressure plate to the engine crank? Has anyone done this? If not, what is the problem with this?
 
A Case VAC was a 26HP tractor, The engine was an intirgal part of the frame. Case 126cu.in. and early 148cu.in engines will interchange, and very common. You are out of your mind to try to install a V8.
If you think you need a V8 tractor, find a tractor like a Farmall or AC, with siderails connecting the tranny to the frontend castings, or a tractor like an Oliver ?Massy Harris with a "bathtub" frame.
You can readily find parts to repair your VAC engine, unless the block is junk, but even blocks are available, as there were manny produced.

I like the way you think. Looks like you want to try a different tractor for the swap.

When you get it going I have 2 nitrous plates I would be willing to sell to help you make that last little bit of horsepower.

I'm not sure but think these tractors had a chain drive rather than bull gears. If you plan to up HP a lot suggest you look at the entire power train. It is easy to move problems to the next weakest link.
 
VAC tractors had no chain drive, as to the chain drive being weak it was not many LA's had the 3 and 4 cylinder Detroit conversions done to them with no power train mods and lasted many many years
 

It"s not about the power, it"s that I have the tractor and some very small v8"s I have Ford 2300 too. I just wanted to know what the isses are with these and why everyone does 8N"s and farmalls and never a case.
 
Where are you located at??? Around here (Iowa) you can find VAC Case tractors in good condition for under $700-800.
