At a delivery today and there was another driver from my company there with his hood open. I pulled up and asked him if I could help. He said he was froze up so I asked if he needed some anti-gel and he said sure. Then we talked a bit and I found out it was his brakes that were froze so I offered him my bottle of alcohol which he took. He never bothered to say thanks, or offered to pay, or give back the $20.00 bottle of anti-gel he didn't need. LOL sure am glad I could help him out like that.

I have been on both sides of your story! I'll bet about now he is wondering who gave him that alcohol. I hope I have thanked everyone who helped me, but I'm not sure. A few years back I unhooked my semi-trailer to grease the fifth wheel. Got up the next morning and left to load grain. About 5 miles South after going over a little hill, I felt a slight nudge and looked back to see my trailer in the distance. It was text book perfect. The trailer brakes locked up and it stopped straight in its lane in about 75 to 100 ft. People stopped and went to traffic guard the hill and one guy cranked the trailer up for me. I backed up and hooked it back up. (made sure lock handle was in and locked) Pulled it off the road and proceded to fix the lights. didn't hurt the air connectors. I think I thanked everyone. but I can't even remember what they looked like. I'd say I was excited. If anybody on here helped me thanks! Vic

I had that happen years ago about ten miles outside of a small town. Truck pulled off the side so I stopped. For some reason he had pulled the oil filter off and didn't have a spare. I offered to drive back to the town and get him one. Cost around twenty dollars. Took it back out to him and he told me he didn't have any money on him right then. Said he could get some when he got to the next town where I was going. Told him where I worked and he could drop it off at the office. Never did hear from him again. If you are broke down along the road now, don't expect me to stop and offer assistance.

A guy driving a truck ran out of gas at the end of my lane.I gave him 5 gallons of gas in my new can.He said he would fill the can and bring it back. That was 5 years ago.I'm beginning to think he's not coming back.

BTDT many times; about half the time the party in trouble never said Thanks.

Now I just drive on by and tell myself that I'm too dang old to be helping young folks out of trouble.

A couple of years ago I was about 8 miles from the house hauling some boards on a trailer I just got cut at a saw mill. Tire went flat and had to pull over. This guy puls up in his brand new truck and ask if I had a spare witch I didnt. He gets out and takes a tire out of the back of his truck and rolls it accross the road. I fit perfect and he gave me a card. I called 2 days later and It was very hard to meet up with him but I thanked him abd see him everonce in awhile.

Same kind of thing happened to me a few years ago. Really nasty night, guy hauling a bunch of Amish ran out of gas. I got a can from the barn, put a couple of gallons in it, poured it in his tank and got him going, after I told him what I thought about driving a van load of people around on bad country roads without any more thought than that. He didn't have money but promised to leave some in my mailbox on his return trip. I've been checking for two years and haven't found it yet. Maybe I got stiffed?

Guy stops in my shop ,says he is out of gas . Says he works at Goodyear up the street a ways ,,I kinda recognize him . Give him gas can with 4 gal in it . Never see him again .. Talked to buddy at GY says this guy got fired and has been pulling this all over town . Anymore when I let someone borrow ANYTHING it get written down item ,time and date . Nothing loaned out unless I know you . Really helps keep me from forgetting what went where ,lol
