WOW! That sure looks familiar! I grew up in western Wisconsin so barns like that and snow like that was a common sight. Thanks for posting!

I always liked that style of barn mines not to fancy but it is big.

I sure love the pictures of the old barns. Always like the ones you could drive into.
Walt I love your picture.

Good looking barn. Mine is in progress now. I'm a bit further along than this, but left the camera at home today.

This is the 1918 barn at the farm. This picture was taken in 1969. Still looks the same today. Grandpa's 1967 Ford F100 to the right in the old chicken lot.

I'd just like to have a barn. My husband thinks ours is a special place for all his tractors. Top and Bottom.

You are right, and I would like to save it, but don't have the money right now, and by the time I do it will not be worth saving. Already all of the joists are rotted in the middle of the span because of the way the roof leaks along the ridge where it changes pitches. The kids will just have to do with this one.

I would like to save it, but th ereality is I don't have the money and it needed it done 20 years ago. Every one of the floor joists is rotten in the center of the span and the roof rafters are rotten where the shingles are gone. The siding is in great shape, but it is framed with cottonwood, which is fine but when it gets old it gets HARD! You will rapidly dull an auger bit drilling through those old boards. :)

I had to sister 4 rafters should of done a 5th but couldn't get to it. I need to fix one post also have some boards on the sidingto replace plan on wrapping the sides in steel but gonna paint it to hold it over until I can afford that . cost about 6500 for 33sq and lumber I did the install with my father and a boom lift

Nice. I've traveled through Madison County on IL highways 4, 160, and 140 going to visit or coming from visiting family in Okawville.
