I'm sorry for the damage, it looks like you have a lot of work ahead of you. In the picture of the new shed it looks like the post was a 2x4, is that true? I would think that would be pretty prone to collapse, but I maybe overbuild things.

4x4 and 4x6 in middle near linton ind south of treeer haute north of vincinnes I will get a pict on wifes metro later

I sure hate to see that happen to anybody! Just glad it wasn't any worse. That's about the only thing I fear where I live. High enough not to worry about flooding, but wind can getcha just about anywhere.

It does look like 2x4s! Don't even look like they were put in a post hole! Like they were just sitting on the surface. Dosent surprise me that it blew down. Must not get heavy snow there either?

I live about 10min east of evansville. We had some pretty good wind lukily no damage. Thank goodness after the pounding we got from the hail back in July. Glad no damage to tractors or vehicles.

That is too bad. I can't see in the photos if the poles snapped off or were lifted out of the ground. When I've been building pole type wings onto buildings I have always used 6x6 posts set three feet in the ground on top of concrete, but we may not have gotten as much wind as you did. Most wind we have seen here in my time has been in the 60 MPH range.

Damn it Wilson, that breaks my heart to see that damage-- been there. Could have been worse, but why ? We are good, God fearin' Tax payin' folks.

lookd like you were still building when the ol wind man showed up ...put up a 60 ft harvestore about 1972 ,,. had fewr than 20 bolts in the base , finished in the dark to get that much ,but we had all the panels up and left the jacks i place and called it a
LOOONg DAAY ,, early next morning we had the STORM from HALE ,woke me up , and i feared the Worst . at 1st lite drove down there ,, rounded the bend of trees and the that Big Blue Harvestore was still OK ,, few minutes later the boss come down the lane ..neither of us were really dressed for work but we stuck ijn serveral dozen bolts for good measure ,, then went and got breakfast
