I was told you can still buy these windmills new!

Does anyone know for sure?

Not sure where they're made, maybe like Randy said, down in San Angelo. But they have dealers all around here in west central Texas, including the town I live in.

John B., Yes you can get New Aermotors, 10 yrs ago I had a Mill go down in a wind storm My Well man sold me a new "Wind Engine" an Aermotor clone! Better built Better Hub design Mine has proven to be very very good. If I recall Head, 8ft fan, Tail, and Stub tower was $3500 they use the same Aermotor # system. Mine is a 702. 702 is the New design as of 1935 the only improvements is the hub over the Yrs.

I was hunting a ranch down by Menard, Tx a couple of years ago and out of the 3,500 acres we had access to, there were only 3 windmills and one electric pump near the camp house that watered everything on that ranch.

I suppose there's still a need for them.

My uncle had a windmill that started squeeking. He took an oil can and climbed the ladder to put oil in the gearbox. He got to the top, looked down, dropped the oil can and climbed back down.

That windmill went on squeeking for years; he didn't dare to climb up there again!
