OT Surgery Update

Glad to hear you made it ok. Did the Dr. tell you to take your pain meds. BEFORE it started hurting bad? Mine did and I did not suffer the pain that I expected. Take it easy and don't try to over do anything and you will be OK.

The ole epidural, that is some weird stuff, had one in the leg a year ago, twitch, then its limp, but I think its the way to go, as it keeps you comfortable for a long time after.

It's good to hear you made it through OK. They probably coached you on the pain pill situation. If you wait until you're in extreme pain to start the pills or the ice you won't catch up for 12 hours or so. Let us know how you're doing. Jim

That seems to be good advice, to get over the hump and the pain gets less, another thing with the pain meds, think it was Oxycodone is the warning of constipation, has to be on the prescription lable, I kind of missed that little "blerp" last year with mine, no harm done, just gave the drugs the head start and was off them quickly fortunately due to the surgery done, shoulder has to be a lot more sensitive. Next on my list to get those fixed, all the threads on it here make me want to run like heck from it LOL !!!

The day after I got home from mine, sitting in the livingroom dozing in a comfy chair. My oldest Grandson came from behind and hollered to scare me. No pain medication in the world could have kept that from hurting when I jumped. I never held it against him, he just didn"t think things out. Hope you have a speedy recovery. Dale

My "Pain-Block" lasted about 18 hes...

Hope yours lasted longer..!

Double-up on the Percocet, if ya need to..it wont hurt ya..just keep the Docolax handy..!!
The 1st 2 weeks will gone before ya know it, the swelling will go down and then the pain will settle down..
ICE, ICE, ICE..keep it from swelling...

Ron..

Hope you have a really comfortable recliner or reclining sofa. I spent the first 2 weeks in one before I could lay in bed again on the first one. Second one it took about a week. Good luck and don't get masculine and do something you shouldn't till it is healed.
