Yeah, I was disappointed when I went to the post. Seems like that would have been an interesting subject, until the poof. . .

It does look a little bent in the pic,but it is not bent.Should have took pic at diffrent angle. It mates up even and tite when drawed up.

That's interesting. How old is it? Does the swivel base still work?

I have many vises (and a few vices too...). Here are a few of them.

I also have three Records two 5" and a 6" but I don't have photos of them... I really should get photos of them, I use them all the time.

Bye for now,

We have one identical in my Dad's garage on the bench, been there for long than I have been and I am 30. Not much grip in the old jaws anymore, but it still works. Hard to find a good vice anymore, the new ones are garbage

Back when we were kids and we all had cap guns, my dad's vise would come in handy. We'd take a whole roll of caps, put 'em in the vise, then squeeze 'em til you'd get the big BOOOOM! Beat the heck out of the little pop you got out of the gun anyways...

My best vise at home is a Record, made in England. I used a Starrett for many years at work and you won't find a better vise. I absolutely, totally abused that poor thing and it never broke. Can't say that for the cheap thing in the barn from the land of almost right. Someday I'll find a good replacement at a garage sale.

I feel a whole lot like Mike Wa, and Rocko, I figgered that you was talkin chewing terbaccy, smokin, drinkin, or wimmens, guess I'll go back and see whats for supper!
