When I was eight years old, my neighbor gave me a brand new Barlow jackknife for helping him bale hay. I'm 63 years old now, and I still carry a Barlow every day. What kind of jacknife is in your pocket?

I carry a small Case Sod Buster lock-back that I picked up several years ago in Iowa at a pheasant cleaning station. I found it at night, had breakfast in the morning and rechecked. The knife was still there so I picked it up. For small game cleaning jobs, I carry a Uncle Henry's.

Small Case SodBuster. Easy to sharpen and you can put a great edge on them. If you lose it, $25.00 buys you another.

A Leatherman multitool and a Schrade Vise-grip multitool. Both are carried in belt sheaths, both carried on the same belt, worn all the time on my work pants. I've lost a lot of pocket knives to holes in my pockets. I've only lost one Leatherman and that one I dropped in some mud and manure. Never did find it, even tried a metal detector.

A Buck Prince in my pocket
Carried a Shrade Old Timer for about 30 years but its a big one that you carry in a sheath on your belt

i carry a old uncle henry 3 blade ive had most of my life, and a newer case i got a few years ago from my daughter

Uncle Henry that my 12 year old Grandson and helper bought me for Christmas this year. Case before that. He wanted me to use it rather than putting it in a dresser drawer so that's what I'm doing. LOL. Keith

Buck 309X made in U.S.A. So old that I don't remember when I bought it nor what I paid for it. Have to leave it at home when I fly, but I feel half naked without that knife in my pocket.

I've carried a knife since I was 6 years old, when we had lots of twine that needed to be cut once in awhile. Used it under a truck a couple times cutting off sweet clover stalks that wrapped around the driveshaft and stopped the truck.

I carry a "Frontier". It was my wife"s father"s knife. He was a seed salesman (and a farmer), it was given to him by Callahan seed co. It has Callahan seed printed on the biggest of three blades. It"s about 3 and 1/4 inches closed.

Cheap folding box knife with replacable blades. And a Leatherman tool. Both very useful to me, use several times daily. My fear is loosing them, as I have lost several nice knives over the years. Box knife is no deal, but very careful with Leatherman. They don't make this model anymore, and I can't find another that is as satisfactory.

Inexpensive Case single blade lock back I've had for many years. Blade getting smaller from many sharpenings but it's good for a few more years.

I carry a swiss army knife "super tinker" all the time. When I'm working, I also have a Bear Jaws multi tool on my belt.
Good Luck and God Bless

I carry an OLD TIMER. I have had this knife A long time.

I've gone through a ton of knives and Barlow seems to be the one that stays sharp the longest. I keep a small thin two blade knive. Back when I had hogs I tried carrying a big thick knife but it would bruise me whenever a hog or a sorting panel would slam into my leg. I tried a stainless steel knife that won't rust when I use it with 32% nitrogen but I could never get a stainless blade as sharp as the steel blade on the Barlow. Jim

Imperial - Made in USA
One 2-1/4" and one 1-1/4" blade.
It's in my pocket all the time EXCEPT when I'm
on a commercial plane.

Don't know. It just says Stainless Taiwan. Special to me though. My youngest son bought if for me for Christmas a long time ago. Thought I lost it once, but I found it laying on a bale of hay. Realized then how much it meant to me and have been more careful since then.

I carry the same knife, got one when I graduated from HS in 64, wore it and another out. On my third one that was given to me by my son, he said they would take this one from me in a nursing home, smart azz.

Leatherman on my belt. That tool has been all over the world. Also carry a small folding buck.
When looking for a knife, I look at Smoky Mountian knife works. They have a good choice in knives.

After losieng a couple of good knifes, I now carry a ace folding knife with a replaceable blade.

Medium Victorinox (Swiss army) for work and a smaller one for casual. A Shrade for hunting, a Rapala for fishing. I caried a Barlow when I was working.

I have a 25 YO barlow that I got as a gift when visiting a vendor. I have lost it several times, but it keeps popping back up.

I have several with the Winchester trademark. They have been made by various companies for Winchester over the years.

I prefer one with a single blade. More comfortable in your front pocket. One blade is all you can use anyway.

Swiss Army knife. Had a Barlow growing up, it got lost somewhere between home and college.

I carry a western 3 blade, one for a whatever, one that is sharp, and one is sharp enough to shave with, at least that is how I check to see how sharp it is although the shaving part is most likely to occur on my left arm with no shaving cream.

Folding lock back hardware store knife. Carry it in a belt holster after they wore through too many pants pockets handling square bales. Goes all the places I go. Wife hates it when I go to church with it. Have had three over a 40 year period. (knives not wives!)

A Stag. Not expensive by any means, but it was the first knife I got from my dad. Worn down from many sharpenings. Plastic handle, dad probably figured I would loose it as a kid. He thinks he picked it up in 1968, I was born in 69. So its roughly 40 years old.

Since then he has given me two nice knifes, I carry those hunting only. Both Schrades.

Rick

Swiss Army knife, I have 2 as I sometimes leave 1 in a pair of jean that is on the floor, in the laundry, in my truck, etc. A couple of times, I've wished I had 3 when I can't find either of the other 2.

I carry an "Appalachian Trail" purchased at Lowes. I have no idea who made it or where it was made, probably in China. It cuts and I can't seem to lose it, which is more than I can say for all the other knives I've carried.

been carrying a knife now for about 60 years. started out with absolutely the cheapest you could buy, graduated to better quality and then for the past 40+ years a case. found a new frost cutlery with a 3.5 in. blade while cleaning out mom and dad's home 2 years ago. carried it ever since.

back when I was younger I carried a John E. Premble , when I reported for Basic training they took all the knifes & I didn t get it back.
Now I carry a Schrade & a gerber . I think I would be lost with out them.

I carried a Barlow for a long time when I was a kid. I probably still have it somewhere.

I started carrying Swiss Army knives in college. The one I liked the best I carried for more than 30 years. Unfortunately I forgot about having it in my pocket when I was going to fly on an airplane and had to "donate" it to TSA. GRRR! I would have paid $25 to have been able to mail the knife home, but the TSA agents wouldn"t take me up on my offer...not too happy with them.

I had a hard time finding a similar Swiss Army knife, small, but with a can opener that looks like a claw, but I finally found one a couple of years later. It was made by Wenger. I found that I really missed the claw-like can opener, which I probably use oftener than the main blade, for various duties. I had bought a Victonix knife, but it did not have the claw, and I found it to be less useful.

I bet Swiss Army knives have served as my pocket knife 90% of the last 40 years. I also sometimes also carry an original Leatherman tool, when I think I might need pliers. I think the Swiss Army knives hold an edge better than the Leatherman knife blade.

I just about always am carrying a Swiss Army knife. Just not to airports anymore! I really mourned losing the knife I had carried for so very long. Good luck!

my list would be too long.

I lose them on a monthly basis.

But I buy them cheap for that reason - there's a guy Iknow who gets them from local police stations and airports (knives they confiscate)

He's got millions of them to choose from.

Case mid size XXX for something over 30 years. Seem like I am undressed when I do not have it.

I carry a Buck 55 everywhere. Small, convenient and sharp! And added security of a locking blade. I do not carry one on my person anymore but I do keep a leatherman in each of our vehicles. It has saved the day more than once. SHON

Three blade Colonial from the 50s Nice plain carbon steel and 1/8" pins. One screwdriver with a single cutting edge (locks straight)
one hooked tar paper/carpet blade, and one spear point standard blade. 5 bucks at a Tractor farm show flea market. I have a bunch of others.
The most disappointing are commemorative knives from Winchester and Smith and Wesson that had steel with near zero carbon or chrome or nickle, and fell apart immediately. Chinese origin. Jim

What garden tractors, etc., are orange and black? I got mine at the parts store, where i buy parts for lawn tractor and mower repairs. Can't remember, and its too cold to go down to my parts department to look. RJ
Come on, Spring! Oh, i think it has that foreign sounding name? Heck to get oldt.

Jack, no. Every other type come and gone. Switchblades. Home made by me and the guy that trained me. Blades from spring steel balancers used in GM shop. Oldest is pen knife I stabbed a pillow with when I was 5 years old. I was sick in bed a lot and bored easily. Still also have Navy issue like a camper knife with 4 blades from 65. Couple I lost to a rabbit hole when arrested and another to a flower pot in a Federal court. Win some and lose some. Always gotta have one. Never know why. Dave

The smallest Swiss Army knife. It has a blade, file, toothpick, tweezers and scissors plus a small screwdriver.

at work i carry a stanly box cutter and a leatherman on my belt I also have a lock back i carry either a leatherman brand or a gerber # 500 that I got free in a box of federal .22 shells. on weekends its a Buck #110 and leatherman on the belt and if i am dressing up a Buck #309 all made in U.S.A.
