How quickly do you start to panic when you can't find your wallet? My panic starts in about 10 seconds, if it ain't in the hole in the dash it's panic time. But that's because if I lost it I'ld be 500 mile away before I knew it.

I think we've all had that feeling. I've lost it out of the back pocket three times. The last time was a year ago and someone saw it laying under the chair when I got up to leave. Second time, the snow plow driver found it. First time, it slipped out when I was cultivating. Found it a year later but by then I had a new draft card, and license. There were no credit cards back then. Now any time I drive anything I don't have it in the pocket. Jim

Mine slipped out of my pocket when raking hay with a side delivery rake.

Not sure how it got to where it did, but after finishing the raking I realized it was gone. The field was 9 acres. On a whim, wife and I started walking along the hay rows. We found it laying right at the edge of a windrow. Purely a miracle. Now when ever I drive my tractor, the wallet goes from back pocket to front pocket prior to driving away :)

Wearing bibs reminds me of a time years ago when I used to wear bibs skiing on really cold days. They didn't have pockets and when I stopped for lunch, I grabbed my wallet out of my jacket and tucked in the top of my bibs to go through the cafeteria line. Ate lunch, went to the bathroom and forgot about the wallet. Walked up to the urinal and unzipped the front of my bibs and you can guess what happened next. Still remember to this day fishing that thing out.

i dont carry a wallet, just a couple hunderd in my front right pocket, and my discover card, but i really panic when i cant find or forget my pocket knife! thats almost more inportant than my iphone, i mean, one thing the iphone cant do is cut open bales or feed bags! lol

Lost mine in a snowbank when plowing a neighbor's driveway. Noticed it missing soon's I got home. INSTANT PANIC. Credit cards, Id's, Permits, ss card, a little cash. My whole life in there! Duplicating those was a real trial. Went to county clerk's office, was able to get birth certificate and replacement concealed license. Fortunately my cousin works there, knew me. That gave me ID to get replacement driver's license. Called and replaced credit cards... Had to have my wife drive me around for these errands! Wallet surfaced a week or so later when we got a warmup. Was just siting on a snowbank, after a little melting tok place.

Only other comparable loss would be cell phone with all those phone numbers and other data you have stored in there.

I know how you feel. Thought I left mine at Budwieser in Columbus,OH. one time only to find it under seat of truck. Now I take some cash and fuel card and put that in pocket and leave billfold in briefcase locked up in truck sleeper. That's a gut-wrenching feeling.

He's not my buddy, he's my brother, hence the negativity. lol He stole my truck just before he took the pic of the doughnut, so you know what his charactor is.

@ JayinNY:

I know THAT feeling, I've carried a pocket knife almost every day of my life, since I was 7 years old, & I'm 66 now.

Fixerupper :

Double wrap a wide rubber-band around your wallet, it keeps it from sliding out of your pocket.

I've never lost one I couldn't find, but for well over 20 years my wallet was my shield (badge) carrier. IN the NYSP we don't wear the shield on the uniform, never did, just the way it was done. It was in your shield carrier/wallet. I lost mine twice. Once in the snow outside the house and once in my living room down inside a recliner. Found them in both cases, but in addition to the panic over the licenses, cards, important numbers and such, if you lost your shield it was an automatic loss of 2 weeks vacation time and I believe they charged you for the cost of the new shield and some other charges. A lost shield has resulted in veritable grid square searches of fields, woods, buildings, trash cans and dumpsters, etc. It was a huge deal.

Now I tend to worry more about trying to recall is I ate breakfast or changed my shorts!

Back when i was riding a motorcycle, i got a wallet chain, and it has saved my days ever since. My wife hates it, but i like it. Beats all when i am laying under a tractor, i know just where it is. When i go any where, i guess some folks think i'm sort of dumb, but it doesn't bother me one whit. I know where my wallet is!
