Potato Digger Pictures

I bought a potato digger for $100 at an auction years ago. I've sold it since then. Kind of wish I would of kept it. But it was so hard to maneuver around in my shed.

It did draw a big crowd at our show in Mascoutah when we dug potatoes.

I forgot to mention that's a 1939 F14 in the picture too. I had to make the front steel wheels for the wide front. All I had was the front hubs to start with. Had spokes made and had the metal rolled where I use to work. Took me 6 weeks to put those wheels all together. The tractor was also on the Dupont/Classic Tractor Calendar in July of 1997. I submitted my photos in 1990. Seven years was a long wait to get it on the calendar but was worth every hour I put into the restoration of it.

I've got an old one that looks just like the before picture. Not sure what make it is,could be IHC. My Grandad bought it new back in the day.

I'd have to go down back and take one. I can do it when it warms up a little. It's about 4 degrees and not fit for it for a few days from the sound of the forcast. I'll post it when I get one though.

Thanks Larry, yes I did put a lot of work into it. It was all worth it though. I was a lot younger then too. That was in 1988 when these pictures were taken. We had a good potato crop that year by the way..

Nice! Could I borrow that one Saturday afternoon in October for use in my garden? Shouldn't take more than fifteen minutes, twenty tops!
