My old computer was giving problems so I bought a new computer with Windows 7 pro. I have this problem that now I can't post parts photos from JD parts. I did post a couple of parts photos at first use and now it gets down to last step(shows photo in box at RH side) and when I hit "continue" photo goes "poof". I do all my YT time in the Modern view. Chris(YT administrator) gave me a hint or two but me being a "computer dummy" I still can't get photo to load. Also how do I go about getting text size larger?? Thanks for any help as I'm needing to put some photo's on another site.

I don't have an answer, but I recently went from XP Pro to Windows 7 Pro and I've had issues with photos, too.

The insurance companies I do real estate inspections for want the photos shot at a high resolution and then resized to VGA before posting on a report. They say that way if they zoom to a particular area of a photo they get a clearer picture.

Without going into detail, it takes about four more steps to resize the photos on 7 Pro than it did on XP.

I'm living with Windows 7 Pro, but if I could have bought a new computer with XP Pro I would have.

I use pro all the time at the University where I teach. If the type of image is wrong (needs to be jpg or gif usually) it will not work. The thumbnail (small low res image you see before uploading) is not the same image. Over sized images beyond 900K in size, or big in width or height might also give issues. Using a program to resize or modify the file type might be needed. Using Corel Photo Paint is reasonable. Jim

I hope you get it figured out. We went from Windows 7 to the new Windows 8. What a big change this is. Just finding the pictures in a file was time consuming. To me windows 8 is for children, mainly it was made for a touch screen phone. Our laptop is not a touch screen. We're much happier with a laptop than a desktop though.

Went to www microsoft . com
and found a Microsoft community discussion forum where one guy says to disable ESET Security Essentials. Another guy on page two of that discussion also lists some steps for problems uploading photos in Win7.

Not sure if this will help you, but hope so. Here is a link to the discussion. If it does not work, I just went to microsoft site - then typed in "uploading photos with Windows 7 professional".

Yep, Microsoft is moving into the hardware markets, so we will see less and less for our desktop computers, all going to the tablets and smart phones.......

Just for giggles I'm going to try reposting a parts photo I posted with Win 7 pro on Friday. Nope it did the same thing.

Photo Upload Preview Here is a thumbnail of the photo you uploaded. If it looks good, press continue. You can start over by going here if this is the wrong photo. When I press "continue box" photo goes POOF

I bought a XP Pro CD legal and above board. I got a new computer and installed XP Pro on it. Got wife a new computer and put her hard drive with her XP Pro in it. I'm sticking with XP Pro as long as I can. works very good, and still gets updates from MS. Maybe something better will come along. Linux?

Thank you Sweetfeet.

Now all I need is for someone to tell me where to find and how to disable ESET Security Essentials.

If you disable that, you won't have any virus protection. You will be at high risk of getting a bad guy on your computer. Are you wanting to get rid of ESET in favor of installing another anti-virus program?

Nope ESET is a different anti-virus suite.. It is also not a good thing to have several running on the same machine like that. That might be what the problem is........

Sorry, I read the question wrong. ESET isn't Microsoft Security Essentials. ESET is a good anti-virus, the ESET NOD32 works very well. I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials on ours. Works very well.

Tx Jim,

Try opening your antivirus software... and doing a search within its help program - they may explain how to do it or a setting that one can adjust to allow you to upload photos safely.

I have Win7 (but home addition) and have never had a problem uploading...but maybe the professional version has different stuff to protect businesses from business data being uploaded by a scamming employee.

Your image url's on the pictures that you've downloaded has to end with jpg for them to post. Hal

The last photo that I downloaded on this site on Fri Jan 18, 2013 12:38 pm was GIF on the JD forum
Thanks but I think Chris changed this site to accept Jpeg & Gif photos.
