How does a guy get the lights off the trunk lid to replace a bulb? I tried it once upon a time, but it didn't want to come so I quit. A second bulb burnt out on my wifes car so I'm thinking I should probably try another go at it.

They don't make 'em to work on anymore do they? For years when I buy a vehicle, (always used, can't afford an new one), I go to a parts house and buy a Chilton's or Haynes manual. They aren't the best in the world but they do show how to change bulbs, and general maintenance etc. Saves me a lot of head scratchin'

Mine is 04 so may be different. On the 04 you raise the trunk lid and go from the the inside. not that big of a job, though does require patience.

Hi, I have a 99 LeSabre, do as web link says.
There are about 7 nuts that removes the complete
assembly from the trunk lid. It is easier with a
helper to hold onto assembly while you change
lamps.

The only difficulty that I had is when I went to
auto parts store their parts catalogue said that
all the lamps were the new style plug in type like
the dash lights but when I got it dis-assembled it
was the old 1157 style lamps. I changed all lamps
hoping that they will last as long as the
original.
