Ford 3400 Leaking fluid

I ran my Ford 3400 today and noticed a leak directly under the seat, basically at the bottom of what I presume to be the transmission case where the front and rear are bolted together.

I just lost light so can provide precious few more details, but can someone help me out and confirm that this is the transmission that"s leaking, how to check the fluid and replace, and how to possibly correct the leak...

I can provide more details in another day or so, but am wondering if this is a sign that the tractor needs major work or not? Is this a common issue, or am I looking at trying to find someone to come out and crack the tractor to fix it?

I ask the latter as I do not have the know-how, or tools, to even consider such a job myself.

Any assistance or comments will be welcomed.

Directly under the seat would be where the tranny and differential cases bolt together... but I'd bet the leak is higher up... Check to see if there is oil running down one side or the other, adn follow it back to find out where it comes from.

Well said Mark.
It could be the remote valve or cover plate, could be the flow control and it could be the hydraulic lines as they enter down there.

Thanks for the replies!

I have yet to investigate further as today was taken up by my day job, but I'll take a closer look hopefully tomorrow or on the weekend.

So is it fair to say it MIGHT be something benign, with a relatively simple fix? I hope so, she's a great tractor.

I'll get up close and personal and post my findings, thanks again for taking the time to respond!
