Spirits in my state

This was our great state of ohio wettest year ever ...as far as liquor sales go . My favorite isn't even on the list , whats yours ?

None of them. I've been allergic to alcohol since 1984; one sip would put me in the hospital.

20 y/o Elijah Craig Single Barrel! A bottle will last me a year. Just don't drink all that much of anything these days. But in the event of snake bite, better keep some in the cabinet!!!!
Smooth as silk

Crown Royal should be in 1st place.
I tried Jack Daniels and poured the horrible stuff into the wife's sprayer for the garden.
Felt kinda guilty afterwards for being so mean to the bugs.

Move Captain Morgans up to #1 and Jagermeister #2 and I would be very happy.

Captain Morgans is really not that good of a rum, I was picking off your list. Any really good mid-grade dark rum would be my #1.

Been working on a bottle of their 12 year since Thanksgiving. Amazing for the money. Same here , bottle will go a year of better. Variety is good.

I dunno about first place.... Morgan white is pretty good too. Toss up between that and Crown for me. Bacardi rum and Jack... pour that down the drain. Shark pis$...

Crown Royal is my favorite. Crown & water & just enough coke to give it some color. Any one that drinks Jack Daniels has never drank GOOD whiskey. Gerald

Macallan 18 year old single malt Scotch, from Speyside region of Northern Scotland. Aged 18 years in used oak Sherry barrels.

Jack Daniels sure helps keep the price of corn up.
If you are ever in South Middle Tenn they offer a real nice tour .

Anyone ever make their own? And willing to admit it? I grow corn and rye, and to me the next step seemed pretty natural. I had visions of a little distillery, and a locally grown, locally distilled theme with some kind of Pennsylvania rye whiskey (prevelant before prohibition). I live in Pa, and started researching the logistics. It became pretty apparent that Pa is not in favor of people making their own whiskey, so I filed that idea away for later.

Lol!
I KNOW I'm allergic to it. I made a deal with the local cops back in November '83. I wouldn't touch the stuff, they wouldn't throw me back in jail. So far, we're both keepin our side of the bargain!

I don't remember who it was in an AA meeting once that said he finally had to give it up. He woke up in a strange room, in a strange city he'd never been in before, with the usual HORRID taste in his mouth, a splitting headache, a rubber in his a**, and a hairy guy next to him.

Owch!..slim

Whiskey as cheap as I like, they don't advertise, let alone track on that chart! Occasionally I splurge and buy some Southern comfort, to battle snowplowing with.

I agree with gmcool that I don't care for Jack Daniels either, it's way too sugary to me. Crown Royal and Wild Turkey are very good but pricey. Black Velvet, Ancient Age or Jim Beam are good in the mid-priced range.

Looks like in Ohio nobody knows what good spirits are.All that stuff is rot gut.

Thank God I quit drinking alcohol.

You guys must really like Jaeger. I thought that was consumed in small amounts only. Maybe it is, but by a lot of people!! Sign me up for #5 there.

Mine is the C/R product what i really like the C/R black and for evening sipping about two fingers (speard wide ) of Crown Royal on the rocks . And if i feel i have been good two fingers of the black . Then if the War Dept thinks i have been really good then we dig into the C/R Reserve . Just wish it came in a little larger containers like 55 gallon barrels .

I live in the heart of bourbon country, just down the road from the Makers Mark distillery. Many of the finer eating establishments around here have bourbon tastings from time to time. Tried 'em all at one time or another. In addition to the Elijah Craig, I like Woodford Reserve and Wild Turkey Rare Breed. You live in this part of Kentucky, it's mandatory you like fine bourbon, fast horses and beautiful women.

I can live without the horses.

Most of my younger yrs I thought JB scotch was my preferred drink, but about 8 yr's ago my second son introduced me to George Dickles tennesee sour mash, and I found a true sipping whisky. The wife don;t like it, so a bottle will last 6 months, unless my son comes to visit.

I'm Crown royal 1st, pricey. Dickels is excellent, Early Times most of the time though. Miller Lite is readily available at the farm! LOL

Jack Daniels, Myer's Rum (or Cruzan Blackstrap rum), maybe Kahlua on occassion, but other'n that it's beer and wine if I'm drinking alcohol.

Coca-Cola, on the other hand, is almost an addiction for me.

I be with MFPoor on this I live about half way between Woodford Reserve and Wild Turkey smell the mash every morning no matter which way the wind blows. I recomend both, have hauled "slop" from both, cows like it too!

Amazing. Lots of high priced brands in the top 10, but not one scotch. My vote is for
Johnny Walker Red,
even though I live in a KY bourbon neighborhood.

You Ohio folks are big spenders.

Elijah Craig 12 gets another vote, it is one I keep in the cabinet pretty regularly. Crown purple and Crown black are both good stuff. My new favorite is Booker's bourbon, I got a taste of it not too long ago. It is really good to sip on.

Given a choice Macallan 12 year old Scotch, tried the 18 year old, like 12 better. Considering my finances, Clan MacGregor scotch.

I'm kinda partial to Pendleton Canadian whiskey and as an ocasional sipper, Jack Daniels Honey. My choice in scotch is Buchanans 12 yr old. Tequila is a toss up between Patron Silver or Coralejo. Don't drink any of them much but I keep it here cuz sometimes, on ocassion, you gotta let go,albeit, gently. Haven't made an A$$ of myself in many, many years.

Don't drink enough hard liquor now to make it worth my while to buy any. Used to drink Jameson's Irish, Jack Daniel's black, Ron Rico 151 proof, and Metaxa brandy. Any kind of tequila would get me in too much trouble. I remember in college sitting around with the liquor list trying to calculate which kind would give the most alcohol per dollar.

Special occasions either glenlivet or glenfiddich scotch. Partly partial to the stuff due to the fine name.
Crown Royal Dark while it tastes superb. More than about two servings is enough.
Don't like ruining good rye with mix, other than water or ice.
Ordinary Crown Royal or 40 Creek is good on a cold winter evening with a warm fire going in the stove.

In my drinkin's days, (which ended about 21 years ago, Thank God), I liked Early Times bourbon, Beefeater's gin, J and B scotch and Coor's Banquet beer. I guess I tried most everything but that stinkin' Jaegermeister was the rastiest rot gut I ever tried to swallow. I learned to drink a little Jack but I wouldn't fight anybody for it...overrated in my book.

I had plenty of favorites,
evidently my ex-wife was allergic to them,
and rightfully so...
Lesson Learned.
(We're still friends, just too much water under the bridge, or, maybe, alcohol under the bridge, as it were)
