o/t A few snow pictures from scotland

Rose this morning to some heavy snow so thought I would take a few pictures around the house.
Managed to get in our new morning house which we hope to use when the weather improves for having morning coffee. Neighbours horse was having a look see what I was up to so took a picture of that for the animal lovers. Sheep grazing in the field opposite. My old Bedford truck sitting in the drivway.
Hope you enjoy.

We are still in spring like conditions here in Northern Ireland, Bill.
Amazing what different weather there is across a few miles in the British Isles.

Would like to see some pics of that truck, without the snow! Haven't heard of Bedford- who is the manufacturer?

Beautiful pictures, Bill. We spent a week touring Scotland some 27 years ago in July or August. Spent time in Edinburg and Inverness...love that countryside. at least as seen from a train.

Hey Sam,

Are you anywhere near the demonstrations in Belfast?

My wife and I toured Ireland a few years ago via a rented car. We stayed in B&Bs all along our way. However, when we arrived in Belfast we saw a bunch of armored cars patrolling the streets loaded with soldiers, so we stayed in a Holiday Inn that night.

Loved Ireland. Sorry about the conflict.

Hi Mike, Manufacturer was Bedford, a British Company who made vans and trucks but no longer in business. My truck is a Model RL which was originally designed for the Army in the late 1950's or early 1960's. They came with 6 cylinder petrol engine but when de-commissioned in the early 70's mine along with most others was converted to diesel (owing to the high cost of gas over here). This particular truck was converted to a recovery vehicle and was used for approx 30 years recovering damaged or broken down cars/trucks. Unfortunately corrosion has got a real hold of the cab and will require lots of welding to make serviceable. I have attached a couple pics for you.

Tom, we are like everywhere you only see trouble if you go looking for it! When on honeymoon in USA nearly 20 years ago we had intended to go into Washington to see the White House etc...turned the TV on the night before and 11 people were reported shot in seperate incidents during that Bulletin, My Mrs wouldn't even venture any where near the White House after hearing that! We also stayed in a motel one night in PA. About 1.00 am all h3ll broke loose with police cars everywhere, All because some 'girl' was getting the best kicking I have ever seen from a big hairy trucker.
Still it doesn't stop me visiting America! But, like at home, I stay out of the cities at night!

Snow in ND? Does a bear crap in the woods? Anyway, where are you in Scotland? I was in Glasgow and Dunfermline on my first ship, and Holy Loch on my last. Plus the ex was from Liverpool, and is now in Cleveland somewhere. Been through a pretty good portion of the Yorkshire area, and your place look a lot like North Yorkshire. Beautiful country.

Don't balme you- I didn't lose any thing in B-More, never had anything down there, and don't need anything there. Wife and I did the Ireland thing about ten years ago. Connemara and looped back down to Waterford and Baltimore. Great trip, wonderful people, and want to do it again.

USS James K Polk SSBN-645(B). We left in '71(?) for Poseidon conversion. Re-home ported to Charleston and Rota in '73. Did two patrols from Holy Loch.
