Searching the site I found 150# for $109.00 Looks like they are selling for patio wood burners ?

We sold a similar product when I worked for the building supply place.

Intended for use in a wood stove. You don't get the "ambiance" you do with wood as it burns very slowly, but the folks that used it really liked the convenience, heat and lack of mess.

I tried some that Menards sells. They are OK, but nothing great. They do not last as long as good solid oak or elm wood, nor do they produce as much heat, but they do work pretty good as fillers between the big gaps when you have to fill the box at night before going to bed.

They are an OK supplement, but a poor replacement.

Around here there are several pallet recyclers. the ones they can't repair and reuse they grind, and turn into wood pellets and Bio Bricks., They are much easier to use and much cleaner to handle and leave little ash. You can place them in a wood burning appliance randomly and they will burn fast and hot. If you tightly stack them in they make excellent heat for the overnight, depending upon your appliance.
The company that I worked for before retirment sold around 4.8K tons of wood pellets and bricks per year. The bricks sell for around $250bucks/Ton at Their store, more if bought in 3 or 6 packs.
I prefer cut wood myself, but with the family farm we have a constant supply of wood and I like cutting wood, and spending $100 bucks for gas for the saw and tractor, to heat my house rather than paying the price of 4-5 Tons of pellets or bricks, to heat it. No oil used here for heat or DHW.

Thanks that's what I was looking for, just wondered how it stacked up to a cord of good wood.I heat entirely with wood also, but were not as cold as you,I'm in Md.I do enjoy cutting my own wood also, but I'm still young, only 60.One of these days I might get old and I'll have to figure out an alternative heat.(Or move!)

Well. I have 5.5 yrs. on you LOL. Last week we started cutting wood for the evaporators in the maple sugar bush. we got a lot of wood to cut in the near future. The recent Jan. thaw, will help us get get through the woods easier. We got a heavy snow storm 2 weeks ago which made negociating in the woods with the smaller 2wd tractors a bit difficult. We have 4wds, but they have cabs and FELs and not perticularly handy in the woods.
At the moment we have snowdrifts and mud.
The pics are pre thaw
