16.5 ford Wheel Update / New Truck

I posted the other day about the odd ball wheels on my truck and needing tires... I only could buy one brand of tire and was going to have 1000-1200 in tires... I love my old truck and shes been real good she has 183k on the ticker and i just didn't want to sink that kind of money into her and have something else happen... So I bought a new truck... I found a 1999 clean clean f350 crew cab 4x4 lariat with 68k miles... New tires One owner truck and I bought it.. Our growing family needed the crew cab they offered me a very fair deal on my truck... and i got a hell of a deal on the f350... Ill upload some pics when i bring her home...

You lucky dog, lol. You will like that truck...I have around 169,000 on my 2002, ext cab, 4x4 F-350 7.3 6 speed Lariat Dually.

I never could figure out why they came out with the 16.5" wheels. They were popular on 3/4 ton pickups back in the 1970's, and all at once died out.

I still have a couple in a storage shed.

One of my former bosses said they came out with the 16.5's when trucks went to tubeless tires to stop folks from mounting tube type tires tubeless or tubeless tires on split rims.
