The Long 910 snapped a connecting rod and came out through the block. Are there many of these still in use across the USA? Mine has run strong for years now and I would like to rebuild it. I doubt they are worth much. Any input would be appreciated.

theres still Long parts available new, used and aftermarket...Farm Trac's a different story

They where not many ever sold around here. That Long 910 is just a painted blue Zetor. You might be about to find some used parts. Your biggest problem is that the tractor running is not worth much and the cost/labor of fixing it will be way more than it will ever be worth. I would sell what you have to a bone yard and take that money plus what it would cost to fix the Long. Use that to buy yourself another tractor. Try to buy a more mainline one and you will have better luck on fixing it if needed.

I dropped the pan, pulled the head and removed one piston and assembly completely. It looks like a bolt came out and no actual damage was done to the crank. It actually runs well on 3 cylinders. I think I will keep it around for light work. It is for sure one of a kind.

i got a long 610 4wd but the motor i dont think will work in yours. i put a couple new pistons in it because it was leaking oil but never finished putting the tractor back together. has only about a 1000hrs on it. its been sitting in a barn for about 10yrs.

I redid this one 2 years ago, still a work hosrse. I have not seen many of the bigger Longs around here, But parts are avalable from dealers and aftermarket. As far is I know looking through the books the 900 and 910 are about the same tractor. The engines use the same parts. I would call some junk yards and see what an engine would cost and go from there. I know its easy on fuel and has lots of gears to use. There good tractors but they are getting old, But still good tractors. Bandit

I bought a long 910 over the summer, it runs great but... well the brakes went out it needs a new hydraulic pump and starter and battery. It will pull the barn down and it handles the batwing without hesitation. My biggest concern at the moment is while I was crawling under it checking the brake lines I noticed a hole in the rear axle case I can see right up into the case. Its a little bigger around than a quarter. It looks like there is another hole on the oppistite side but it is full of dirt and gunk I'm afraid to dig it out in case it has been patched on that side. The other side looks as if someone took a tool and dug out around the hole. So I guess what I'm asking is the rear axle should be full of oil right? Where is the fill for it I can't find it? Any ideas how much oil it holds? What would you use to patch the hole?

Here is the picture of the hole in rear axle case. It looks like the other is a drain for the rear axle case. Which would mean there is supposed to be oil in there right?! My manual seems to be really short on info.
Thanks, Laura

(quoted from post at 20:14:33 01/08/13) Will you take that in horses?

No I can actually throw a very nice horse in on the deal for $1500 total though. So for $1500 you get a tractor and a throughbred gelding.
