Ford skid steers

Were they all built by the same company? I am
hearing repeated references to Kinsey Co., Holmes
County, Ohio. Yet I am holding in my hand the S/N
plate from my CL-20, which says Ericson Corp.,
Minneapolis, Minn. Thanks, Fritz

I know some were made by Ericson... I think maybe the CL20 and CL30 (CL40, if there was one, too). The later CL25/35/45/65 were made by Owatonna, I think. So maybe the Kinsey made model was the older 320? That would be early '70's.

The later CL's weren't made by Owatonna, they were made by Thomas in Canada but had Shibauru engines instead of Kubota, for obvious reasons. Getting engine parts for these models can be troublesome. The CL 20,30 and 40 were made by Erickson.

Erickson also built the Gehl HL3030 which would be much like Ford CL30 ,Gehl had hydraulic brakes and a foot feed throttle. Herman Mfg. in Wells MN says they have some Erickson parts, axles being one of them. The main difference between the CL20,30and 40 was engine choice I think. Kinsey may have ended up with parts inventory after Erickson.
