For the Safety Committee:

Ok Learned Gentlemen,

How many violations can you spot in the image of the Rogue Chicago Forklift being unloaded in upstate NY?

The Technician who drove the machine off the trailer commented that it was great for achiving maximum pucker power!

Awaiting yer comments.

Well at least you didn't use the block and tackle on it! I see blocks under the ramps so that made it better. Did the front of the trailer go up in the air?

Since you asked....
One, and the most obvious to me, is there is no blade guard on the table saw. Two- While I can't see them, but I'm going to bet there are no chocks on any of the tires to keep the truck and trailer from rolling out from under the ramp as the lift was unloaded. Three--The ramp has no load rating on it. Four---Not so much an observation as a question, but is there a seatbelt on the lift? If not then the operator wasn't wearing one and number 4 is answered for me. Five- One battery appears to be hanging from the cables vs simply sitting on the floor. Six- The third lug nut from the right of the second one, going counter clockwise, on the left rear wheel, wasn't tightened to a proper torque and the wheel is about to fall off....OK, # 6 is BS, but I tried...LOL

Seriously, glad to see ya'll made it home OK. Dad has had a small lift in his shop for nearly 15 years, and I've had mine for around 12. One thing you'll find once you get it working, and start using it, is you'll never know how you lived without it.

Hard tires are pretty slippy, I'd guess driving down o sliding down that ramp was about the same difference.

brad, glad ya got er unloaded without tippin er over. you'll have to look at my wiring job on that accelerator pedal and get it switched back. she does take off quick as soon as you tap the pedal. i see the bottle jack under the trailer. when i winched that tellatubby on my trailer at the the farm the beavertail was flat on the ground. i'd ball park that truck at about 5k lbs. only violations i see is Jr dont have his farmall stocking cap on, and the clock on the wall isnt a john deere one. and hey , wheres the napa calender with all the pretty girls on it???? btw, the flat panel just behind the mast on the dash is the access for all the switch solenoids. kinda neat to just pull the cover off and run thru all the levers and watch the switches open and close. ( well it keeps ya amused when things get boring!!)

We had a safety office where I worked and someone would've been suspended for a week without pay. They were very strict on safety. Hal

I trailered mine, which is a 4500 lb machine, home about 33 years ago on a trailer of about the same size. I didn't dare to move it on my trailer, and I had extra planks under the back end. They set it on with a wheel loader where I bought it and I got a friend to pick it off for me with his wheel loader when I got to my place.

The fact that you got away with useing a U-Haul trailer. That is a 200-300% NO NO in their eyes.Other wise a little wider ramps.

Don't like hauling fork lifts or trash compactors . Loaded a forklift one time on a 40 ton RGN and it made mince meat out of the 1 1/2 in flooring on the trailer . We end up putting it on a 50 ton low boy and it went thru the 2 inch oak flooring . After repairing the flooring on both trailers we put down 3/4 inch steel plate under the tires and it still bowed the plate in between the cross member .

One, and the most obvious to me, is there is no blade guard on the table saw. [b:7d988d5553] First thing I did when I got my table saw years ago was take the guard off. Messing with it made operation more hazardous, IMO.[/b:7d988d5553]

Two- While I can't see them, but I'm going to bet there are no chocks on any of the tires to keep the truck and trailer from rolling out from under the ramp as the lift was unloaded. [b:7d988d5553]Don't need chocks, guy sitting in cab has his foot on the brakes (trailer brake light on).

Three--The ramp has no load rating on it. [b:7d988d5553]That's what the cinder blocks are for: to improve the load rating of the setup.[/b:7d988d5553]

Six- The third lug nut from the right of the second one, going counter clockwise, on the left rear wheel, wasn't tightened to a proper torque and the wheel is about to fall off.... [b:7d988d5553]Are you sure? It looks tight to me.[/b:7d988d5553]

One thing you'll find once you get it working, and start using it, is you'll never know how you lived without it. [b:7d988d5553]After buying my backhoe, wife caught me looking at fork-lifts at auctions and just said "NO!" in her most emphatic, "don't go there, not open for discussion" voice which I've heard before AND after that[/b:7d988d5553][/b]
