sellers on ebay

Has anyone notice that some more like a lot of sellers on ebay sell things for mutiple tractor that the part only fits a few. I'm just wondering if they don't know there product or there just dishonest. Example: selling a hood for a b bn c sc. a and b hoods don't fit c and sc. Steering wheels for m sm 400 450 560. The 450 and 560 are different. That's just a few that I saw on there tonight. Any opinions? Ed

They are being a little dishonest. They do this so they will get the most views on the item when people search. It's up to you the buyer to beware and be sure of what you are buying.

They just dont know their part verry well like you say their part fits all. Some parts say even different brands of tractors.

Some don't know, some are a little dishonest, some have more than one part.
When you check out you tell them which tractor and they send that part.

Some don't know. Recently someone listed 2 F20 battery boxes. I sent them a message just to let them know they were actually tool boxes for F20 or Regular tractors. So they modified their description to say, "I have been told they are either battery boxes or tool boxes".

Saw one Regular PTO extension system sold as an F20... and Regulars are actually worth more because they are rarer.

Have also seen other parts listed incorrectly.

Right 55deere70, Know what you are buying and don't get all upset on the way they listed it.
If you know the part and the price is right buy it, I do and then I resell it for a profit so you guys better buy it the first time or pay more buying it from me.

their are probably junk yard dogs, selling any thing to any one who would buy it if they ask them if it fits,,,when they say yes and you buy it,,supprise,,,flea-market hits again... a lot of people believe that local buying is still the best..

Not get too far off, but I recieve a toy tractor from my grandfather"s collection for my birthday and I happend to search it out on ebay. Found a similar one and the seller was going on about how this was a dealer only toy tractor by ertl and the number stamped on the bottom is the dealer number. Kind of ticked me off because I actually toured the ERTL plant in Dyersville in the early 90"s and they explained to us that all their toys have a 4 didgit code stamped on the bottom and how to interpret the code.

Also it was not a dearler only toy because mine came with the box and it has a price tag from a department store.

I also agree too many sellers of the full size tractors try to pull the wool over your eyes too. That"s why I do my homework as a buyer!!

Mcbride, I agree you should know what your buying but not everyone knows all. Hell of a way to run a business. Goes to show you what kind of people are in the world. I have also noticed the amount of sale items on ebay and how many are not getting a bid. Maybe this is why. I have had only one bad experience buying and one bad experience selling out of many on ebay. But like you said you really have to watch and learn from mistakes. I bought a glass jar cleaner for a farmall and it showed a small dent and I got it for a cheap price what he didn't show was the other side that was all caved in. Now I want to see all sides before I bid.

I needed a crankshaft pulley for an F-20. Someone on this site said he had one, I ordered it. After I got something I could not use, he explained that the Pulleys came in two different styles. Now,if he knew that, Why did he not ask which style I needed before he took my money and sent me a $30 boat anchor?
