What will you go back to the house if you forget it???

Years ago if I forgot my wallet I would return to the house to get it. Maybe even after being away from the house for some distance. Now if I forget my wallet I may just keep on going. I know my Drivers license number and usually have a check book in the truck.

If I forget my cell phone I will go back to get it. If I don't have it on me I will find myself reaching for it many times throughout the day. I have had one for years starting out in the mid 1990s at the dealership I was working at. It started out with a big bag phone. Now the things are so small that I can hardly dial the darn things.

I too have left wallet.. I guess it depends on how far I have to go back. My mind says that if im to the pavement road which is about 4 miles from house I dont go back. I have gone back for my insulin shot.. That could be a problem if I didnt.. Wife Ya... cause she thinks shes the boss and I want her to keep thinkin that.. lol Funny thing about cell phones is I think I can live without it BUT I have alot of my brain in that device.. I dont know the wifes number but I know its button #3 and send..

When I reach the end of the driveway.....But,once we were rideing the Silverton/Durango train. We were 30 miles down the road when Susan realized she forgot the tickets....we turned around that time.

Would be my wallet since the debit card is in there. Not apt to go back for cellphone. Never take it unless going on a long trip. Darn thing won't receive a signal at home so I haven't become dependent on it. One of the advantages of living in a holler. When someone comes to visit, that is what we do because their cell won't work either.

I don't carry a wallet, well at least for now and many years, sometimes it makes sense, but it is one less thing to lose, done that twice, went back to a dark building being rehabbed I delivered trusses to, retraced my steps, in the dark and found it. Another time when shifted off from digging column footings at the alpha mercury plant addition or new building, boss man sent us to do a favor in the neighborhood, which was Jersey City, a lawyer friend of his sent us over to clean up and remove trash between 2 brownstones, including the backyard, the darned spent crack viles were almost ankle deep ! Some how the darned wallet got out, and had to have landed on the street from the truck I was driving. I had thought one of these addicts sneaked into my truck, but I kept whatever money separate, the foreman was irritated with my reaction to this event and my demeanor with a couple of locals, he was right, I was still a young fool, was headed to CA soon, always happens when you need it the most, like going on vacation. Well before I left, a puerto rican woman, of senior citizen age, tracked down where I worked, called the office and let them know it was found and to stop by and claim it. Very nice woman and family, devout in their faith, no need to mention religion here, but her place was adorned with things of my faith, you could tell, I thanked her and stated I'd like to leave something to show my appreciation for their honesty, she would have none of it, was totally amazed that in this drug addict infested gang land, there were people like this that easily shine through all that haze. I have not carried one since, keep whatever cards I need in a case that goes with me and gets removed from whatever I am driving.

Cell phone, yes I hate being that connected and accessible, people can be annoying but now with these smart phones, they are an indispensable tool. I had one of those bag phones, my car shorted a fusible link in the south bronx, on the highway, near a bad neighborhood, 2x, seems some water got in, (gee, keeping an engine compartment clean and using a power washer LOL - idiot...that be me LOL).

I removed all my worldly goods, filled my backpack which I was never without, placed that bag phone on top with the handset out and over my shoulder, I felt like an RTO man again, just not as heavy, shorter antennae, made my way through to public transportation as AAA sent a towtruck out and brought it to a garage, sure as heck glad I had that darned cumbersome phone, saved my @ss and likely my car, you don't use phone booths and be of caucasian persuasion in these places, LOL, they can spot you easily, so you have to keep moving like you live there.

Essential tools, like when working in the woods tools for my saw and or anything similar when working, I try like heck to cross off everything on my list that I need before I head out, because if you need it, and don't have it, it can be such a waste of time.

I spend a fair amount of time trying to not forget things, sometimes I wonder how the heck I get anything done, because preparing to do so, takes so long, and when you look back, you have nothing done yet LOL !!!

Depends how far I'm going. For a long trip, I'll turn around for a cell phone or wallet, maybe GPS. For a short trip, only my wallet. #1- There is little leiniency for no drivers license,($110 fine) and if I didn't have it, that'd be the day they pulled me over for going 3 over the limit. #2 It has all my other cards and cash.

Depends how long I will be gone. I will skip the cell phone or wallet for a few hours. Got a fuel card in all the vehicles. If my trip is dependant on cash or cards I got no choice but to turn around. I haven't carried checks in probably 5 years. Only time I will grab them is for a auction or some other specific buying need.

badge to get in the gate. seems like every time i drive another vehicle i forget it. dont carry a cell phone or anything else ,so i dont have that problem.

Depends on only if I _need_ it. Need the wallet to buy stuff, so if I was going to buy something.... I need to go get the wallet. But I won't go back after it if I'm just driving around.

Cell phone? Thank goodness I've escaped that curse so far in my life. If wife got me one like she threatens, I'd leave it behind on purpose....

Pretty much all depends on need, if I'm not planning on using it, I don't mind leaving whatever at home.

JD, Guys,I don't carry a wallet in the traditional sense. But carry DL, Debit card and a few items in a new fangle Alumina-wallet, fits easly in Front pocket of my pants. && Cell phone too.
I need both every day! I will go home to get as far as 25 miles I have gone back!((50 mi screw up)), If my day is late in getting going, and I do a... I forgot! stunt! them that day may get aborted as for as running 250 miles + and seek clients.
The wallet is not the big deal these days, but the Cell has become our necessary item, stay in touch with wife, kids, Biz work, The 911 call on the Hi-way!!!!!

To make sureeeeeeeeeeeee wife turned off the curling iron or hair rollers.so I bought her a curling iron that has a automatic shut off.

Coming back from Calif. in the spring I lost one of my hearing aids at a truck stop. We had parked with the big boys because we a horse trailer in tow. About 100 miles up the OAS I discovered it was missing. Not in the truck figured I dropped it on the roadway out and thought that it was surely run over by one of those big boys by now. So I'm short on hearing aid because the Vets won't replace it as its my second one to loose. BUMMER.

This morning I was out and in the car to go to breakfast when I realized I had forgotten my glasses; I went and ate and then came home and found the glasses.

Just my wallet. I don't have a cell phone addiction. I'm not important enough to need one I guess.

Wallet or company ID badge, if I'm not too far away and headed to work. Have left the cell phone at home many times, I'm not so important that I need it 24/7.

once had a 60 mile commute to work, one day i got about 20 miles down the road and realized i still i had my house shoes on. yes, turned around and went back for my work boots.

I'd go back for my wallet for sure. Pretty darn rare that I would be leaving home for anywhere that I wouldn't need something in it(DL, cards, cash). Cell phone, no, just count my blessings that I forgot it and no one can call me.

Cell phone, only happened once. My Dad is in pretty bad shape and lives on his own, so I'm his life line as he is afraid to push the button for life alert system, he's paranoid he will end up in the hospital and then a nursing home.
Yesterday I went to buy his groceries and left without his grocery list, but I was just at the end of the driveway so no big deal. Went back in to get it. He's a picky eater, so trying to remember what he wants is impossible.

If I forget a tool I need for the farm, sunglasses or ear plugs,,, I'll go back, lucky farm is only 3 miles from my house. I can't tell you how many times my brother has forget if he left his coffee pot on or the wood stove door open when were headed out to work! Lucky he remembers by the time we get to the end of the driveway! Lol

I'll second the teeth. Only had them for about 8 months now, but three times I've been halfway to work before I realized I forgot to put them in. Can't eat a thing without them.

A wonderful lady told of her late husband's saying - "...well, I'm heading to the big city, (from the valley up to the 'city' with a population of around 4000) let me see, spectacles, testicles, wallet, yup! I've got everything."

SWMBO put up a sign inside the going away door
TEETH
KEYS
BRAIN
as she got tired of letting me back in for something.
(P.S. I only get the wallet if SHE needs something!!)
