Yesterday I posted a message asking if anyone knew what type of cab I have on my 1964 4020. Someone suggested pictures. I am new to this site and I am having some difficulty loading my pictures. I took 5 pictures of the cab. I believe I only got 1 of them to upload. If you can identify with this picture I would be grateful.
Thanks.

Looks like a Year-a-round cab to me. A lot of them were added to a lot of different tractore. A keeper for sure! Use it and enjoy! Should have heater and AC mounted in it. Armand

I'm not a green guy, but that cab certainly resembles an Ansel cab, and I know they were made for JD tractors. I think you said you found a sn# on a cab piller?? There should be an aluminim tag with Mfg somewhere in the cab. This is a pic. from my Case price book of that vintage showing a Ansel cab on a CaseDB tractor. Notice the hinged front winshield on both.

To my knowledge Deere had two primary suppliers of cabs. Hinneker and Stoppler (spelling may not be correct). They finally settled on Hinneker as it had ROPS built in.

Actually they settled on Stolper.

There should be a name tag up above the window some where on the 2X4 frame. Its either a hiniker 1300 or a year a round Model QT1

Definatly, 100% positive it is a Hiniker. Model 1300. Model number denotes weight of cab. Model before this was the 900, also denoting weight of cab. The 1300 has roll-over protection, 900 does not. I worked in research and development at Hiniker Co. back in the 70s when these cabs were popular. I designed many of floor plates and filler plates to be used with these cabs for different applications. The factory is about 3 miles northeast of Mankato Mn. Year-around was also made in Mankato, Mn. and was very simalar however the grab handle on a yar was about twice as long and was chrome plated. Thats what tipped me off right away when I looked at your photo. As a side note, Founder of Hiniker Co. just died about 2 months ago. Ken Hiniker was 96 years old. He was my wifes uncle. Very smart man and well respected in the community. You have a Hiniker model 1300 cab. No question about it.

YearaRound,QT1.Ican teoll by the hinges on the small front windows. My IH826 has those same short grab handles.

Yes.

I have a tractor with a Year-A-Round cab and tractor with a Hiniker and THIS IS A HINIKER.

Also, I don't think any of the Year-A-Round cabs tried to be fenders as well as cabs. The Hiniker cabs sure did!

Hi
Unless Britains/Ertl Toy company made a total mess of their 4020 Models in 1/32 scale, it looks like a Hiniker 1300 or similar to me.
Regards Robert

flying belgian has it correct. The Pull handles are a give away of what brand the cab is. Year Round had a longer chromed handle. The Hiniker had a smaller painted handle. Also the lower front windows are different. The Hiniker Cab is narrower at the bottom than the Year Round. So the lower front window are more square on the Year Round. The Hiniker cabs are more tapered.

Top picture is a Hiniker and the bottom is Year Round.

Not a YAR cabs had chrome pull handles the newer ones did but not the older ones. The give away for me on the cab in question is the hand holds on the front of the fenders, that is a Hiniker give away, Here is a pic of my dads 1970 4020 with a YAR QT-1 cab that is not a roll over certified cab unlike the newer ones.

John Deere's early cabs ,used on New Gen. tractors (about 63to67) Were Manf. by Crenlo cab co. Rochester Mn... Stolper Roll Guard cabs ; Manf. by Stolper Ind. DeWitt Ia.(68to70)built around the roll-guard & canopy JD was already selling; mostly used on early side-console tractors; In 71&72 Hinson cab co. Manf. Sioux city Ia.made JD's Roll-Guard cab.. (simlar but roof & front mounts diff.welded not a bolt togetter cab)like Stolper cab...73" begin Sound-Guard body cab....

Definitely a Hiniker 1300. Another difference between the YAR and hiniker is how the side windows open. Hiniker windows are a suicide type, YAR opens like the sound gard cabs.

I have a "69 Deere 4020 w/ a Hiniker Model 900 cab. I use this machine winter and summer in Alaska. Your cab looks just like mine - lights and all. You should find a name plate w/ a serial number inside the top panel inside the cab. This is the same panel you would drop to access the fan blower. On the right side should be the name plate. If it is still there make note of the serial number and send it to this address: [email protected]
The company still maintains records and I was able to determine mine is a Model 900 (S/N 4632). Good luck. Great looking cab, BTW!
I am looking for a manual for the Hiniker Model 900 Cab and would be willing to buy it.

I have a hiniker cab putting on a 3020 jd I need cab mounts would you please send me some pics of yours . Thanks.......
