Mike (WA) - One more time for Auld Lang Syne

Thought you may like this version too - since you don't like classical music.

Later tonight, in the shop... Jack Ingram's version will be played a little bit loudly. Love it because it has all verses and words. Plus, the Celtic sounding drums are always good.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and never brought to mind
Should auld acquaintace be forgot
and days of auld lang syne.

Days of auld lang syne, my dear,
days of years gone by...
Should auld aquaintace be forgot,
and days of auld lang syne

When young we ran about the hllls
and pulled the flowers fine;
We've wandered oh, so many miles
Since days of auld lang syne

We sailed the seas and swam the streams,
from morning sun till night;
Time won't erase the memories and
days of auld lang syne.

Time won't erase the memories
and days of auld lang syne.
Days of years gone by, my dear,
days of auld lang syne

We'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for days of auld lang syne.
Long ago, long ago, my dear,
we'll toast yet one more time,

we'll raise a glass to a brand new year
and days of years gone by...
Days of years gone by my dear
days of auld lang syne

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and never brought to mind,
Should auld acquaintace be forgot
and days of auld lang syne.
Should auld acquaintace be forgot
and days of auld lang syne.

That song has sure gotten jazzed up over the years from the original Celtic version hasn't it?

dgasper,
Thanks. I like the traditional one someone posted too... but this is more my style.

dgasper,

Ooops... it was you!
I was thinking a different handle - it is my CRS (can't remember stuff)... go from one screen to another and I already lost the information.

Anyway, I enjoyed that one too.

The last time we stayed up for New Year's was in 1978. Not too bad, as we were at the neighbors right next door. Only problem was there was a couple feet of snow in our driveway when we walked back home. By morning the drift was 4 feet deep.

I think 1999-2000 was the last time I did it. Hope to be in bed by 10 tonight,Good Lord willin and the creek don't rise.

Hey, SweetFeet, I like it!

But I gotta admit, there on the right side was Dan Fogleberg's "Another Auld Lang Syne", and so I had to listen again, and I had to go for the tissue again, as always. You see, there was this girl in college, and. . . and. . .- well, you get the idea.

Thanks for posting. Things that happened in your youth probably just keep getting better, in your recollections. And that's probably not a bad thing.

Mike (WA),
I can relate. I'll be cryin' later.

Listen to Strawberry Wine. It is a memory song of an old flame. Pretty good.
