While I was reading the 1962 corn yiel post, I remembered reading about 304 b.p.a. when I was in FFA, 50+ years ago.

I don't remember that one. First one I remember breaking 300 was a guy in Schoolcraft Mi not all that many years ago.

Remember that as being the 304 bu challenge. Funk's advertised it to no end.

Thanks for the article.........a great yield particularly given the era and the equipment that he used. He should be given a lot of credit for showing the world what potential corn held and spurring a lot of research into increasing yields. I recall in the early '70s, there was a farmer named Herman Warsaw who got a lot of press for some terrific yields.

Thanks for the story- I always thougt it was Herman Warsaw out of I believe Indiana that broke the 300 bu. barrier---I was wrong-neat story!
