how do I find the serial number

I have a 1550 oliver diesel, I think it's a 1967 year model. Where can I find the serial number on the tractor, or how can I find the number if there is no plate? Thanks for any information.

If there is a plate it should be on lower instrument panel left side.

there is no plate. how do I find the right tie rods for my tractor? I was told there were four different ones.

Post on the Oliver forum, with the number off of the engine bloc. Someone there will be able togive you the year built and you can go from there.

The box at the top that says "another forum". Click it and scroll down to Oliver & Cockshutt.
The number you're looking for on the engine isn't the casting number,it's the number that's stamped in to a flat spot near the alternator.

The only number I find near the Alternator is 169975
