Caterpillar D7G dozer

I was wondering what the difference is between a Cat D7G dozer that was made in the USA and one that was made in Japan.

Not positive on the D-7G, but the similarity would be the engine is the same but things like starter/generator and some accories may be different. Some of the older 955 e3ndloaders were made in France and had different accessories.

Not enough difference that you would ever know it. At the most some minor electrical and may not even be that. COULD / and doubt it, have gauges that are printed in something different but I have never saw such.

If it's anything like the Japanese copy of the old Chevrolet 6 cylinder engines, you may want to check the engine ROTATION. Chevy engine was clockwise, Japanese was COUNTERCLOCKWISE. Also, all American nuts, bolts, screws were SAE while everything Japanese is METRIC.

If it's like the smaller machines, there's not much difference. Bolts are standard. About the only difference on my Japan built 931B is a Nippon Denso starter.
