Doggone,I went to an auction this morning. They had a 220 volt electric shop heater identical to this one. I'd never seen one before,so I looked it up when I got home. The one on the auction brought $140.
$880 new!

I sure wouldn't want to pay $880 for a 50,000 BTU heater.
Especially an electric one. I bet it costs a fortune to run!

We had 440V heaters in the plant I used to work in. I always figured that it would really make a electric heater spin!!

15 kw @ $.10/kw/hr is about $1.50/hour.

#2 fuel oil is about 138,500 BTU/gal so 51,118 BTU's = .37 gal of oil. So if oil is $4/gal, .37 gallons is about $1.47. I just used $4 as a round #. However if you have an oil furnace, you know it may use about 1-1.5 kw to run the blower, gun and ignition transformer.

So, depending on electric rates, cost of oil, electricity isn't all that bad.

For some people, having an oil tank filled is a large chunk of change to pay all at once.

Yes. The JD D brought $1900,so did the Case 400 diesel. I started talking, but I think the Co-op ended up at about $2400. Was too engrosed in conversation when they got to the Farmall H to know what it brought.

A whole bunch of the stuff ended up at the crusher. The combine, potato harvester, cultivators, some of the trucks, etc.

Re: Shop Heater

Home-made wood burner, burn construction waste, old pallets, any scrap wood.

Cheap, the only way to go.

And for $140,it was a good deal. Quick heat without the smell from a salamander heater.

I went to it, got there late though. I know the combine went for a little over $2,000 if I remember correctly. Do you know what the 235 disc brought? I didnt know a lot of it was scrappers, but again I didnt talk with anyone and arrived late.

The combine ended up at $2800. Way more than I thought it would bring. I think Dan Reid got the disc, but I was talking right then too.
Wild Willy was doing a lot of buying, that stuff went to the crusher.

he one you posted a link to does not say so, but I ownder if it is 3 phase. 42 amps at 208 volts is oly 8600 watts, not the 15,000 it claims. Maybe they have a creative way of figuring it.
