todays soup

Not to far off topic,because most of the vegetables were grown in the garden. Its in the crockpot for tonight,, 1qt tomatoes, some frozen green beans,some frozen squash,1 onion, 2 small turnips, some fresh brussel sprouts,some mushrooms,some dried basil,salt and pepper,We will see how it turns out tonight, I would like to put some meat in it ,but if I do my daughter wont eat it.See you all tonight!

Ooops,now I saw the part about your daughter wouldn't eat it with the beef (could set some aside for your portion)

Looks really good. Homemade soup... the best thing about winter.

Do you add sugar? With tomato based soups and sauces I add just a tiny, tiny bit of suger (probably only 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon for a really large pot - not enough to detect sweetness, but I think it tempers the tomato's tartness).
 
What time is Supper, Larry? That looks scrumpious!
My wife cuts up the left-overs from a pot roast and adds some peas, spices and water , places in crock pot all next day and we have the most delicious soup you ever tasted. Seems like she plans every meal for left-overs in mind for next day lunch or supper. She gets not gripes from me since oftem they are as good or better than first time around!!
 
Looks good enough to eat right now! Makes an attractive photo also. I fix soup with just veggies occasionally, but I usually add a beef bullion cube or two for flavor. I respect people's choices concerning meat, although I don't really understand it.
