Voltage Regulator Bracket

Hello I have a 1959 IH 240 Utility, I have an original Voltage Regulator Bracket but do not know exactly where it mounts, the picture on page 82 of the parts catalog does not show what it attaches to, just that the VR attaches to it and this bracket is under or around the generator. Can someone fill in the blank on this one, a picture would be great, thanks, Ron
 
The regulator goes behind the air cleaner. I think it bolts up by the fuel tank bracket. Here is a picture of the left side so you can see where it goes.

NOT sure what the bracket attaches to, but they cleverly hid the VR at the rear of the air cleaner.

They should have hung it under the drip-line of the hood, like Oliver did on the 550- then they could sell you a new one every few years, when the old one corrodes from the moisture.

Thanks Guys, the picture in the parts catalog shows it by the generator, I know that they monted the VR on top of the generator on some of the smaller tractors and I think the Farmall "C" ? had a bracket / bar coming off the generator mount. It is just an odd place to put it by the air cleaner where room is limited.
 
Ron; I suggest you go to the Farmall and International Harvester board and holler for Mark Peters and or FarmallHal, as they both have 240's - both are Farmall owners, but I'd guess the mounting is the same. A close-up is what you are needin' and I'm sure they would oblige. Years past I had two of them, cute, didn't take much storage space and one had a front mounted aftermarket blade...stupid me I sold it...and 2" - 4" is falling now. That could have been adapted to my F340...did I mention stupid me. Good luck.
