Auction Results: Maacfaddens, upstate ny

Hey guys,
I was at Macfaddens yesterday...looking for a more modern tractor and get some results from the middle and end of the auction...so, if there is any interest...here they are...

Ford 7710, 4WD, cab, $9750
Massey 1105, cab, 4100 hrs, real nice...$6750 - interenet bidder...i dropped out at $5500
Oliver 1800 diesel...good runner, $3700
JD 925 Discbine - $6750
JD 3020 Diesel, $6500
Case 1840 Skid steer - $6300
Ford 8240, 2wd, cab, knock in engine, pto did not engage - $10,250...we were looking at this tractor before auction (online) but when we heard the knock in person, we did not get in.
NH 195 manure spreader, almost new, $7500
Bobcat 753 $4500

At this point there were 4 balers lined up...
an NH 575 - looked to be almost brand new, a 570 with little wear, and a 575, CIH XXX (identical to 575) off the same farm...all with quarter turn. I don't remember the price on the first 575, but the 570 went for $5000 and this was after a string of items selling for low dollar amounts after begging by the auctioneer and then a late bidder raising his hand after sold was called...so, the auctioneer seemed annoyed at the crowd of people not getting in early so he auctioned choice on the 575 and CIH, opening bid was $3000 and there was some hesitation so he called sold. and the buyer took both at that price. Can't believe that those three balers brought a total of $11,000 when i've seen the individually bring $13K
More tractors: JD 4040 $8250
JD 2940 $9500
Case 350B dozer with backhoe, $4500
NH HW 340 SP Discbine - $36,000
JD 6320, with loader $41500
JD 2355, 2wd, $8500
Pair of JD 2150's, 4wd with loaders, $10,500, $9250
Landini 105, 2wd with cab, 2400 hrs, real nice, $17500 (that was us)
McCormick 105 (three of them, 1700 hrs, 2400 hrs, and 5100 hrs, all 4wd with cabs) went $23,000, $23,000 and $18,000

it was a good day
excited for our new tractor.

I went to the Cazenovia Equipment auction years ago looking for a particular tractor, which they had there. Apparently the pace wasn't to Teitsworth's satisfaction. He stopped and scolded the crowd- threatened a buyer's premium, etc. If I hadn't been looking for a particular item, I would have walked away right then. I'm not much of an auction fan anyhow. But, I guess it worked. After the scolding, the bidding took off!

Excited for the new one...
Got AC G, MF 165, 265. 1080, and 30b ldr/hoe, wanted something with some creature comforts for me in the winter plowing and my dad in the summer baling, also wanted a little more HP than the 1080 had to offer...next mission...discbine to replace one of the haybines

I like auctions and I like Jim as an auctioneer...I prefer active bidders rather than the fake hemming and hawing...I bid aggressively till I hit my price limit then I stop...

Wow, good job steve, I'm glad you guys got a tractor, that landini, it was a nice looking tractor, when you bringing it home?! You will love the heat/ and AC...,Good luck with it

Larry I dident know if you were asking steve or me if I was there! Sorry, but yes I was there and talked with steve, and his dad, I forgot to bring Loren the ACG guys number to call him to see if he was there. I asked him Friday night if he was going but I dont think he posted back if he was or not! I'll have to ask him, or maybe he'll see this post! Lol

Got the Landini...
Saw jay there...looked at soe equip with him...the thief finally returned a chain he stole from us...lol...it was a good day...the dec. auctions can be coooolllllddd. A lot of the equips hat sold online was headed to Canada...I think Lyle may have been buying them.

Well It is amazing how things will sell at auctions these days. You never know if it is going to go higher than its worth or be a bargain.

As for your Landini 105. The Perkins engine is bullet proof. The only trouble I have heard of on them is in the transmission and that was not real common. The parts can be gotten through the McCormick dealers around here.

No I can't believe that. I thought the one to the left was brand new, than I saw the hay feed was shiny, were the hay went into it. A real steal! You remember what the JD 336 square baler with chemical, or preservative on it sold for?

I had stopped in there a couple of weeks ago mainly to look at tires. I had looked the 8240 over. It looked pretty beat. I am recovering from knee surgery now.

Seems cheap for that 4040 Deere. Must have been beat right in to the ground with junk tires for that price.
