Anybody having internet trouble?

I thought that was just the norm anymore. We have the newer Wild Blue. Think its called Excede. Its fast when it works, but between it and the router, we are down almost daily.

If you have Verizon in your area I would get it.
They have specials going on now. We subscribed to it in 2009. They installed all new fiber optics wiring known as FIOS. Free long distance calling, internet and TV for about $90.00 a month with one TV. Hal

My virgin mobile air card has been exceptionally slow and inconsistant since online christmas shopping starting ramping up after thanksgiving.

living around the city area, connections are easly available,, would hate to live too far out where need to use wireless systems, with mountains around, may not get good service...never a winner any where you look at it...even at that said, yes i have some times loss of services...

(quoted from post at 14:48:22 12/08/12) Mine's been in and out for three days and acting up again this morning....

Contact your internet provider. Be nice. If it happens again, be a little less nice. The third time it happens, do not be nice at all and it probably will not happen a 4th time.

I have Verizon cell service for my online system it works very good has never gone down and is always fast. When they get my tower upgraded to 4G it will be 10 times faster. It's all around me but I live on the wrong side of hill. Bummer.

(quoted from post at 14:06:06 12/08/12) I have Wildblue's Exede and it sucked big time for the first few months. But they got it going now and works pretty good. Flakes out and gets DNS failure once in a while but not as bad as some others with Exede.

If its truly just a DNS error, you can manually tell your computer or
router to use a different or secondary DNS server.
In the case of a secondary DNS server, everything would work as it is
now until it has a problem, then it would try a different one.
You could use open DNS or just point it at 4.2.2.1 or 4.2.2.2.
Geek speek maybe, but not hard to do.

Yes I know, but my POS router won't let me. It defaults to automatically to the Exede dns servers, and no manual override. I would need a different router. I was using my XP computer with ICS as a router but it caught a virus and is being flaky.

Different provider... but we had problems at work recently with connection blipping in and out. New modem solved the problem there too.

It's Sunday, and it's finally back up- something in the network end. The thing would come uo for about five minutes, lock up, and lose the connection. Spen t two hours with tech yesterday, who also got dropped. They called last night and said they had a problem, then again this morning and said it was fixed. I think someone on here was sick last week, gave it to verizon and my computer, which gave it to me. I feel terrible. Thanks.
