Upcoming auction...new-er tractors..

Upcoming auction here in upstate ny...looking to add a new-er machine to our fleet...mostly for running a discbine (once we have the HP), baling, some tillage and snow removal in the winter...4 have MF 165, 265, 1080 in use...1080 is a little underpowered for the discbine and he disc harrow works her pretty good...have been casually looking for the right deal to come along...either a) an older, cheaper 100 horse machine (replace 1080), and something newer, smaller with a cab to replace 165... Or b) newer, bigger with a cab, lose the 165 and keep 1080 around for dump trailer, hauling logs in the woods and other rough jobs...

So...long story short...upcoming auction has
a Ford 8240 2wd, cab, 4k hrs, Decent shape,
A Landini 105, 4wd, cab 2k hrs, very nice, used as a mowing machine by a town
3 McCormick 105's, 4wd, cab, owned by an airport...apparently getting rid of fleet due to changing emissions stds....2 with 2k hrs, both 2007's, other a 2004 with 4k hrs...
All machines have decent rubber

Any knowledge/experience with these machines?
Positives? Negatives?
How about the hrs? Is 4k getting dicey on a newer machine?
I know the landinis and mccormicks all have a Perkins diesel (good thing in my book...I think)
How about auction prices for these? The trick is going to e whether or not to bid on the Ford as it comes earlier in the day...but may e the only affordable machine?

Thanks in advance.

Hey steve, I'm all for ford, but I'd get something 4wd,wasn't there a 4wd ford, 7700 or something there? Don't know if it was any good or not,.maybe see you there!

I think 7700 and a 7710... Just wanted a couple more HP than that and a few years newer...
We will see you there...gonna split firewood in the a.m. Then head up.
Hope you guys are well.

Hi
You need to find out parts prices/availability agco and some others are having problems right now, can be weeks or months on some stuff.
you need to find local dealer service rates or if there is a dealer near too. Rates here are mostly $120 an hour, the first hour just covers the paper work :-(.
All these tractors are getting out of the fix it your self league. 4000 hours is not a lot if it's been maintained right.
I know 4000 hour stuff and the only thing not worn is the paint on the oil drain plugs. if not looked after a 15000 hour serviced right might be better in some makes.
I fix 2 Landinis near 5000 hrs and would not want them in my fleet Getting un reliable and parts more expensive than Massey, if you can get them And not the same build quality on the ones I see .
The Mccormic was not very succesful round here local farm had one new a year and went JD due to problems. The other thing I watch on low hour not worked hard stuff is what fell off under warranty with hard work .
I have seen guys buy low hour not worked hard stuff, take it to the field and proper work it. Then find this stuff go wrong and pay the price outta pocket No warranty.
As they say buyer be ware!
Regards Robert
