Kitchen Stove??

Have a Frigidaire gas stove bout 10-12 yrs old
Turn on and igniter lites but no flame.Then strong odor of gas.Can igniter still lite but not enough to ignite flame?Or is something else going on.Think its worth it to call appliance repair?

Seems like faulty ingitor symptoms to me.
I found a youtube video for troubleshooting and replacing the ignitor on a Magic Chef stove and did it myself.
 
It could be the burner has some stopped up holes close to the igniter. Poor cooking caused mine to get clogged up, you can tell your story.
 
If you hear the ignitor clicking I would say that part is working. If you smell gas then gas is coming out somewhere but probably not close to the ignitor. See if you can take the burner out then use a tip cleaner and air compressor to clean it. If you need a new stove I have a very good used electric flat top stove for sale. New cost is $2000 will let this one go for $500. I'm selling it for my nephew. Hardly been used.
