I chacked my front brake rotors today. I couldn't believe the wear the had. Both sides. The rotors looked like they had been run with no lining. In all my vehicle exerience I have never seen rotors wear like this. My brother did a brake job on a similar pickup a while back, and had to replace the rotors and calipers as they didn't retract. Is this a problem with the Ford pickups, with calipers sticking? Stan
 
Never had any problems with my 08. Just normal wear.
I've had to change the pads once in ~105,000 miles.
Probably due again soon come to think of it, but no current problems.
Maybe I'll change the rotors this time if they need it.
 
A lot of f-150's in my area and have never heard of that problem. My son has an 05 and as far as I know is fine. It has around 100,000 and he just changed the pads not to long ago.
 
do your calipers have steel or composite pistons? we had quite a bit of trouble with composites swelling and sticking...if it was warranty i had to replace with composite per FOMOCO rules...if customers nickel i put steel back in...never had a comeback with steel.
 
Yes, had that problem on my 06. Calipers wouldn't retract. Not a cheap replacement.Don't know if the replacements were composition or steel.

How many miles are on the truck? Original brakes? Ceramic brake pads will hardly wear out but they wear out the rotors. I've seen that happen many times.
