hydralic foaming

What is causing the hydralic fluid to foam up on my loader???
I changed and flushed the fluid 3 times. The third time I use the better fluid from TSC and it still foams and comes out the overflow breather.
I have a Case 400 with an external pump that was replaced about a year ago.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Check the seal at the shaft of the pump. I've seen them installed backwards and it will suck air in around the shaft and makes the oil foam. Has the oil been foaming ever since the pump was replaced? Are there any leaks on the suction line after it sits overnight? Check all connections on the suction side. Let us know what you may find that cures the problem.

Tuggle,

The hyd pump on your 400 has NO shaft seal, you could have a suction leak at the pump suction seal area. I would probably check that and if all is ok I would clean the reservoir thoroughly and clean or replace the edgewound filter and fill it with HY Tran Ultra from Case. Many off brand oils do not have additives to help the oil get rid of air. As I said before the big square seal at the pump suction port should be checked.

The loader just started foaming this pass week. I'll check the suction side for any leaks.
How do I check the seal in the pump???

I would suspect that it's sucking air someplace,
BUT...Quality hydraulic oils have ANTI FOAM
inhibiters.
