I look at the photo classified ads everyday and watch the implements. Why are so many selling the old trip plows?

Moldboard plows aren't being used much anymore. Most trip plows were not high-clearance plows so they couldn't handle a lot of trash - plus hydraulic lift plows are much easier to use and eliminate the mechanical lift problems.

I've seen plows all painted up and stacked on top of each other for yard art at a couple farms.

I think because they are actually wanted now as many do plow days.

To add to Dick's reply, plows just don't rust away like other implements do. There are still plenty of them sitting in groves and fencelines. Jim

Those old plows are not used much if any any more. I have 3 of them and none of them has seen dirt in years
