What are you thankful for

It's easy for us to get down the way we had to deal with the drought and other difficulties this year so I was thinking of all I was thankful for. When I set down and think all the obvious, family, friends, health, etc but I am also glad for this forum. This is a great place to get info on tractors, equiptment and all things in between. It's kinda like getting together with reletives. You have some you don't care for, some you can't wait to hear from, and some that don't bother you either way! LOL! Happy thanksgiving folks and try to enjoy a nap after the "turkey coma" sets in!

Thankful I was able to take my 80 yr old father home From
The hospital today as he"s had some issues. Too many others
to list just take things a day at a time anymore. You all enjoy
thanksgiving and continue to take care.

I'm thankful to have survived a plane crash and to be the father of two fine sons (four grand kids), and to be a CHRISTIAN in the greatest country this world has ever known.

"I'm thankful to have survived a plane crash..."

Bama, when you start any sentence with that phrase, you need to tell a story. I think that is a US Code somewhere against mention the plane crash without telling us what.

I don't have a thing to complain about....although I do on occasion!
The Good Lord has blessed my life.
Have a thankful Thanksgiving.

I'm thankful to be alive. Last April I had pneumonia and 10 days after I got over that my kidneys failed. Two days later I coded and almost didn't make it; I had a bleeder in my colon which required 27 units of blood before I was stabilized. I thank God every night for giving me another chance.

I had a loaded ready-mix truck, speeding, blow through my kid's school bus stop yesterday at the end of my driveway. Was heavy patchy fog and truck driver was going too fast for the conditions. Scaryest part is the fact that the truck driver dynamited the brakes and left a rubber strip about 25' long directly across from where the bus stopped. Thank God he stayed straight. Had he killed my children, I wouldn"t be a free man tonight.

Excelent post!! I couldn't agree more. I am thankful
for all those things and more myself, even tho
sometimes I forget to remember that.

For good sons, good wife and family. Coming through a ruptured appendix years ago. having almost everything I ever wanted and never deserved. Having Jesus that died for me. And He forgives. Having prostate cancer that must be some blessing in some way to somebody. Having people on this forum to pray for me and with me. God bless you all.

Y"all have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

So much to be thankful for. For starters just living in the United States, where we can worship without any fear whatsoever. and having my kids, and grand kids close. Also having my wife that puts up with me. Stan

Today, I was counting my blessing when I realized that I ought to have a lot more. I think some of them are missing.

In seriousness, however, I actually do have plenty to be thankfull for, and I am. I have a healthy family and a good place to live. While my health isn't so great, I can be very thankfull that the VA feels that we will have most all the critical stuff corrected soon. There is plenty of food. In September my dad died out of the clear blue. While it still hurts, I am very greatfull for the past 6 years that he lived with Melinda and I. When I first joined the Navy my dad and I started to drift apart, and if he hadn't come to live with us after mom died, I would have missed some very special times. I have had a lot to be thankfull for these many years.

This page isn't long enough to list all the things I have to be thankful for, so I'll just hit the highlights. I'm 60, fairly healthy, married 40 years, 3 kids, 6 grandkids, good job that I enjoy, small farm to play on, Oliver tractors to play with. The Good Lord has truly blessed me and my family. Do I have everything I want? NO. Do I have everything I need and then some? YES. Jesus is my savior and my guardian angel never takes a break. What more could anyone ask for? I'm the luckiest man alive. Chris

I'm thankful for my family and that I still have my dad (94.) I'm also thankful for my long-distance Oklahoma friend. Also for my health where I can run my beagles every day. Just living in the USA is a blessing. Not enough appreciate that.

Lots of stuff.
Good health with my family, parents too.
Decent job, with more work then I can handle.
Lots of food in the house.
My family will be going out later to eat.

What I am NOT thankful for, The politicians in DC.

I'm thankful for a wife who loves me unconditionally as well as a family that is always there for us. I'm thankful to be sitting in my own home on our farm, it may be small but it's comfortable and it's ours.

I am thankful that after being what I considered a well off self made man (read that as puffed up with pride) for about twenty years I suddenly found myself unexpectedly in a low income situation. God had knocked me down a few pegs and I suddenly found myself interested in relying on Him. After a few tough weeks I found my way again with a whole new outlook, and soon after that, God started giving me opportunities so that I once more had comfortable income.

I'm thankful I have a Vice President with at least a 65 IQ,a National Debt of 16 Trillion$ + but don't have to worry because we can just print all the money we'll ever need.

Thankful to be around, in good health and living here in the US.
I have a minor airplane crash story.
A pilot was flying visually got to sightseeing and got lost. He was running low on fuel, it was getting dark he spotted our hayfield. He made a circle- came back in the wrong place. All he could find was 5 ft tall pines. Suddenly he looked up - a barn was in his path!
He pulled up, struck the barn roof annd crashed about 100 feet into what once was a vineyard.
He woke up in the vineyard, saw a house in the distance. Luckily it was a doctor who had just gotten home. Patched him up and took him to meet his friend.
The next morning we had Navy and Marine helicopters surveying the barn and plane. Air Force One sometimes flies over the same barn - their radar had detected we had obtained a plane somehow. They directed a flatbed to come and salvage it when I was in class.
This is a pic I hope of the barn, the plane crashed right behind me.
I am thankful for being able to pass this story on - along with others told to me by my father.
