Tractor auction

Went to Cheffins sale last Monday when I was in Cambridge England. This is the largest monthly sale of tractors and machinery anywhere in the World and a real experience. If any of you are ever in England on the 2nd Monday of every month then do look it out. 660 tractors at this sale with buyers from all over the World looking mostly older Masseys for rebuilding. The tractors came from all over the British Isles, Spain, Portugal, France, Sweden, Japan and America. These are just some sample photos, mostly Deeres as many of you will recognise them and also see many different Deeres! Ask if you want to see more or if you have any questions I will try to answer them.

Wet and hilly, plus we haul everything with tractors and we like an extra axle for braking, plus we can haul larger machinery. Less compaction, increased traction and better braking.

How did the prices compare to your local sale prices?
Seems like with that many bidders maybe they would go high.

Who made the 3410 JD didn't look like a JD to me. They are made a little different and all the numbers aren't familiar. I enjoy photo's from over the pond. Keep it up. Thanks Vic

Hi used to live in the u.k and go to that sale a lot was the only place you could see 200 used MF 135s and the same in ford 000 series in one place back in the late 90's,
I seem to remember that JD was a deal between them and Renault Tractors from France, was not a lot of them around, it was not that good from what I remember, Renault is now part of Claas equipment I believe. There was also a badged Zetor around and that was worse L.O.L. seen a few of them on Iron search and such.
Regards Robert

Oh Sam. Admit it. It NEVER stops raining. Except to snow now and then...
OK I want the 135 and the 2 Same's. I don't care if they run, I just like the colors... with a U.
600 odd tractors every month? That's quite a clearing house. Might be a good way to rid yourself of a lemon too????

I thought that would catch your attention! The JD 3410 was built by Renault in France, actually in the Massey Ferguson or as the joint line is know the GIMA factory. This GIMA factory is part of the MF complex and was a joint venture between MF and the French Renault company. Renault was subsequently sold to Claas and the MF factory still builds the rear half of the new Claas tractors. In fact a Renault/Claas is a Massey with a JD engine! Of course the Renault version of this tractor was orange and grey.
