Metal Halide Bulbs.

I'm changing out some bulbs and boy do they come out hard. They're probably Chinese and the bulb thread doesn't match the socket. Is there any thing I can put on the threads so I will be able to get them out next time?

raphite or anti-seize compound (I have used latter).

Dave - I've had good luck putting a dab of silver NevrSeez (spelling?) on the bulb base threads then wiping off as much as possible with a paper towel before installing the lamp. You want just the lightest film possible on the threads. Lamps treated this way have unscrewed easily from outdoor fixture sockets 8 - 10 years later.

Tip: Be careful not to get NevrSeez on the lamp base insulator!!

Silicone grease you can get it at most electrical outlet stores. Won't short out even if you cover the whole thing.

Use the anti-sieze, or No-lox, or such compound. It is found at the electrical supply house, primarily for use on aluminum lugs. That stuff is great for many things....
