Wheel Horse transaxel question again...

Thanks to those that responed to my post the other day. Unfortunately I didn't give enough information and questions were asked back. That said, hopefully I've got the answers to those questions this time so I can get the answer to mine.

OK, this transaxel says Unidrive on a sticker on the casing. According to the manual I've got this basic model was used in just about every Wheel Horse model except the Ranger, 800 Special, and Commando V7&V8. Again, looking at the parts breakdowns the 3 speed and 6 speed models are almost identical also so far as the reverse gear is concerned.

That said, my question once again is this. Which way does the reverse gear face when sitting in the housing? It has one flat face and the other face has a raised center and I need to know which side of the gear goes toward the side of the housing where the shifter sets. I've tried matching it up with the gears, looking for tell tale marks on the housing, and ever other trick I could think of, to figure out which way it sets and have come up with nothing. No more than the center is raised on that one side it still meshes pretty good regardless of which way it sets, the marks on the housing could have been made by either side of the gear, the drawings show a line drawing with no detail, there are no pics, and on, and on. In other words short of finding someone who knows which way this thing goes, or finding another to tear down (that doesn't have extra parts inside and comes apart without the reverse gear jumping out) I'm pretty much lost. So, once again, any help would be greatly appreciated. Wayne

I found a manual....maybe the same as yours but in one pic where it shows the gear..it is definately flat on the side showing..it is on page 18 in Adobe Reader and part #18 ...is this the gear? You can zoom in and get a closer view.
