Irrigation tire vs. tractor tire

What is the difference? My local tire dealers don't know. I though maybe someone out west with irrigation experience might have an idea.

I need a 11.2-38 capable of carrying 2750# each for the application. All the "normal R-1" 4-6 ply tractor tires I can find are rated for about 2100 pounds. I have found "R-1 irrigation" tires that have a high enough weight rating.

Will using the irrigation tires on a tractor be an issue?

I use irrigation tires on my old tractors. The tread is a little closer together and not quite as hard rubber. The ones in this photo are Farm King branded and they were $215 each in 2008. 11.2x38 For parades and rides, they are perfect. If you were going to work them in the field, the rubber may wear and cut a little easier than regular tires designed for rear tractor. I always felt for the price, I could buy several if I had a problem compared to one high dollar set.
