Hate to say it,
but maybe it don't mean you might be a redneck,
just a member of a dyin breed.
Call me what ya want, but I'm with ya...

After reading your post, with which I agree, if someone called me a redneck, I would be highly honored. We need a lot more of us!

I agree with everything in the original post. You don't have to be a redneck to be that, you have to be an American. It's too bad too many people that don't have those beliefs call themselves one.

You might be smart if you can accept change ... the culture, the world, the people and not let it rob you of your happiness and your peace of mind. More humans= More change. Over 6 billion now and counting.

Everyone upon entry into this great country should be asked if they have a problem with any of those statements and if the do turn them around. Jim

By the standards listed it may also mean that you are a abundant nnalert!
As I am and I fit every one of those!

I reckon I pretty much fit the redneck mold, so count me in also. It's kind of ironic that what was once considered a bad phrase or heritage, is now something that more people are finding pride in. It's not much different than when we came home from Viet Nam. If you wanted acceptance you didn't talk about your war experience. I know I didn't and according to other V/N vets I've talked to, neither did they. Until about 1980, when the V/N vets came together to raise funds to build The Wall on the Mall, then things changed for the better. There's a lot of 'redneck' names on that Wall, along with mostly poor boys from the bigger cities of the Midwest.
